Airstreamer's Charity Chance

It is a long running tradition that Airstreamers have contributed to charities. When the hosts of the Birthday Bash started planning we made it a priority to find a way to help the local community. In Chenango County New York we found a food bank to lend a hand to. Root and Wings is very close to the source of need and we liked that fit very much. We felt with the number of people coming we could make a big impact.
The original plan was to have a food drive for everyone to participate. After the spots to attend sold so quickly we realized that we should create a GOLDEN #80 SPACE that we would auction off. This fulfilled two needs, another trailer can attend and the all the proceeds can go to Roots and Wings.
So what comes with this GOLDEN #80 SPOT? Well, everything the Bash has to offer and the knowledge you were able to give someone in need a helping hand. You will get a special parking space on the inner circle of the wagon wheel making it very easy to go from campfire to your beer cooler and back. Every morning we will bring you breakfast to your rig. This will give the option of breakfast in bed if you wish. Very romantic if you ask me, why not make everyday Valentines Day? Everyone in the trailer will also get commemorative T shirts. And the Hosts will be giving the winner of the GOLDEN #80 SPACE a special gift as a sign of our gratitude. Some people are modest, and if the winner is, well, no one will know who you are and no big deal will be made of your generosity.

The auction will run until April 4. Hopefully someone will feel very generous. 100% of this spot goes to Roots and Wings. I am not sure if this is actually a tax deduction, consult your accountant on that one.

We have some people bidding now... still less than the original cost of the spot , but moving up. We are kind of surprised that more waiting listers have not bid.

... it looks as though some people have found the auction for Golden Space #80. Some guy named Carl is the high bidder right now at $152. I think he is looking forward to having griddle to trailer breakfast service. That is what you call my daughters bringing breakfast to order to your trailer every morning? It wouldn't be exactly room service would it? Just tell me what you want and what time you want it and every morning it is at your rig. Very romantic breakfast in bed... leisurely meal under the awning... maybe at the dinette looking out those panoramic windows.
Nick was saying there was issues going to the site but I did not have any. I created a user name when I registered to participate in the auction. I just use that and my password on the left hand side of the home page to log in. Then once logged in I click on CLICK HERE yellow bar and I am looking at the bids.

Oh yeah!

Stand by'ers... people with a ticket could get the "Special spot" and either sell their current spot or Ebay it off... or someone thinking they won't make it on the Stand By list and did not sign up yet... it's all going to a great cause!!! Thanks!!

look out folks, Carl has been bumped out by Twaugh. Wonder how he wants his coffee... he could be a tea guy, nah, coffee. Wait till he sees his space on the wagon wheel...
Hope no one bumps him out now. I bet Mrs. Carl loves breakfast in bed served by two lovely young ladies...

I just realized the issue Nick was having... Sorry Nick. In order to keep fake registrants from messing up the auction process, the registration is actually processed by a human. A human takes slightly longer to send a confirmation than a computer. Folks be patient, you have plenty of time to submit your winning bids. I bet Mrs. Carl is not the only Airstreamer's Wife wanting breakfast in bed. There might even be an Airstreamer's Girlfriend wanting a little special romance...

I don't want NOBODY seein' me before I have a shower and two cups of coffee. If I were to marry again he'd have to be legally blind without glasses - and I'd hide them first thing in the AM!

I would have the girls put blinders on if you your were high bidder. They could even bring you two cups first and then your breakfast...

The auction goes until April 4th. If someone who already has a ticket won the "Special Spot," couldn't the winner's original ticket go to the first standby instead of making the winner sell it or put it on ebay?

I love a good auction. When people want something bad enough they will go toe to toe waving their bill folds wildly. Good thing this auction is going to an excellent charity.... The "Carl" guy wants it really bad for he has taken it away or is it taken it back from this "TWaugh" guy at a prime bid of $177. A little warning guys... I got a PM from someone that is not just thinking about winning it, he claims he WILL be the one getting served and serviced.

Happy bidding...

I'm thinking that you folks would really enjoy seeing my not-so-bright rig parked in the center, with the red awnings in full sail and my state flag flying; you know, the one with the half-dressed lady.

So I'll join the bidding fray for the primo spot.

I am so impressed with the generous bidding going on for this special spot. I think maybe the winner of Golden Spot #80 might even have to be the one to present Roots and Wings the oversized check at the Saturday campfire.

The Spot is up to $350 and we still have almost a month to go...

Look again, son.

WHOA... I never would have imagined that. I am blown away with some one's, well I know who they are and so does anyone that is on the forums, unbelievable desire for that spot. At the current bid, I think the hosts are going to have to show a bigger thank you than we ever would have planned for.
