Airstream, your favorite features...

I am curious about what people consider are their favorite features of their trailers or motorhomes. Aside from the obvious brand loyalty you expect to find here on Air Forums exactly what things do you just love about your Airstream?

We so loved the wrap around windows in the 16' International series trailers that we purchased what we discovered to be the last available model on the east coast when we learned they were out of production. I love waking up with that wonderful panoramic view of the world!

What do you like?

Bruce

The Shower in our 31 Classic is awesome- AND the wardrobe- hard to find many SOB's with that kind of space for a wardrobe.

Well now, there are two features I do not get to enjoy with our little 16' trailer but this is exactly what I am curious about.
Thanks,
Bruce

I must agree that the wrap around windows are a great feature.

Our previous AS - 25 Safari did not have have these windows, and the amount of light is great.

In our 27 FB Classic, I like the rear access and that the dinette and galley is in the rear of the trailer - this provides a little more privacy and better view.

My favorite feature is the twin beds - the added room and storage is awesome. My wife and I struggled a bit with the decision to go with the twin option - but no regrets. The layout makes the trailer so much more livable and much more roomy

Happy 'Streaming!

The rear bedroom on our 2011 28' International. Close the door and you're in the snuggest little room imaginable; it makes for very comfortable nights. The separation from the rest of the trailer is good when the kids are on board, too

I liked the fact that mine was aerodynamic enough that it did not get blown away when it got hit by a tornado a year ago.

I also like that it tows well.

We really like the rear opening hatch and storage area on the EB25FBLE; the pano windows are great, too!

I like the fact that there are Airstreams from the 60s and earlier on the road. Despite the flaws we've all read about (or experienced) when they were made, the fact is that barring a major accident it'll still be worth restoring for a very long time. It's not meant to be disposable.

More specific to our camper: we wanted a dinette and a separate bedroom, and we got both in the 30' Classic, without the extra maintenance of the third axle of the 34' (I know some newer ones have both, too, but they were out of our price range). Our dinette is not the booth-type; it has a table that folds down and two separate chairs, and we love it. I think we're much happier with that setup than we'd be with a booth, even though we lose some storage.

Agree with MrUKToad. My 28' 2012 Intl has a floorplan that really does provide an "owner's suite" that separates you from anyone else who's occupying either the dinette or front L sleeping spaces. Also, how beautiful the sparkling aluminum looks throughout the interior!

Anytime I visit an RV show to look at the competition for travel trailers in the same price range, I come back appreciating the whole airstream concept, design and construction. Yes I get irritated with some of the AS shortcuts, but when I look at the construction of the SOB's, Airstream does a better job overall. Shiny aluminum just looks better than white plastic and swooshes.

1)Aluminum construction
2)No wood in walls or roof
3)Solid hardwood residential cabinets
4)residential plumbing fixtures and counters
5)timeless shape
6)WIDEBODY (we're not as thin as we used to be and can walk by each other without acrobatics)
7)awnings
8)suspension
9)electric over hydraulic brakes
10)many other minor details which add up to a great trailer!

We both like the open and airy feeling of our 25FB. With the wrap around windows and all the side windows open it feels as though we are out of doors. And, the walk around bed makes it nice to not have to crawl over one another.

We like classic travel trailer styling that does not try to be a residential house. Honesty in design. The curved forms of the exterior are also expressed inside with the rounded corners and cabinets.

The Airstream will never look outdated or out of fashion.

I remember the first time I saw a Serenity interior. Having seen them only online, I was sure I would not like it. Imagine my surprise when it became my favorite!. Interior aside another thing I love about our little Bambi is the "retro" look. I guess it is not exactly retro as it really never changed from the original (not that much anyway...) but I call it that anyway.

This is good to hear, we bought our 28 2012 International Serenity a month ago but will pick it up Friday from the dealer. We had a boat trip planned and had to leave the trailer at the dealer. We plan to camp over the weekend we had a 2005 Safari SS but need a better floor plan, sounds like we made the correct decision.

When a designer wants to increase the apparent size of a tiny space, he would fold windows around corners, add built-ins along interior walls, and put mirrors (aluminum here) to increase the perceptive depth of interior surfaces. Airstream has done this beautifully, and in coordinating with the materials and forms of the exterior.
