"airstream life" the spring '07 issue...IT'S PINK!
hello readers and lookers...
well the asl spring 07 arrived today...
and this edition has 3 big problems .
but first the good stuff...
1. the cover pic is a telephoto shot that gives the feel of compressed space, hurried people and a downtown destination...
that can only be manhattan! that's right an airstream in new york...cool.
the accent color is pink. why? valentine's day, cancer awareness or is pink the new black?
2. the ads...this edition has more great ads than i've ever seen....
and they are ALL done very well! refined graphics, excellent photos, classy colors and so on. even the fonts are cool.
if you are an a/s vendor and NOT in this editiion, ya really missed the boat!
there are 2 many ads to mention them all but the 'vintage trailer supply' page just POPS out. some of these ads are clearly custom made.
i love love having all of the vendors supporting the cause...
as a mattter of fact ALL of the photos and graphics look better...has the production changed somehow?
geewhiz these photos literally jump from the page (or maybe i just cleaned my specs)
3. the articles...
-i love wool and pendelton and really they make a/s quality garmets and bedding. timeless classic and american.
-ever wonder about how aluminum goes from the ground to our trailers? it's here and reading about minerals has never been more interesting.
-wanna do video? richC gives us a primer on gear and the process. now i wanna new camera!
-how is vintage lightning coming? the pics and story reveal that this unit will be truly unique.
BUT the amazing trailer in this edition is a custom redo by a cali architect...that i LUST FOR! man is that a sweet unit...hello? jackson center!
-there are 2 bird stories. the work on migratory birds is outstanding and the photos worthy of the geographic.
the other bird bit clarifies why the pink cover accents...moosetags? you will love this story.
the americana moho, the ebay coverage, the cover story and so on, are the best yet for these themes,
and the IN BOX keeps getting better...
lastly tin hut's piece is so funny. hut i'd love to read the un edited original...
so what are the problems?
well...
1. i cannot loan this edition out to anyone. the pages won't hold any more drool and finger prints!
2. i only have one subscription...at this price i really should buy extras (see #1)
3. the gang did such a good job on this one, they may have peaked. how do they top it?
so i hope the rest of ya start receiving it soon.
and IF you haven't subsribed, how can they do this as 16$ per year!
get it now because,
in a word.....
WOW!
cheers

Yep mine arrived today as well. Curiously, the newest issue of the Blue beret arrived the same day. Now all I need is the time to read them!

Today I splashed down the muddy gravel drive running with snow melt, tore open the mail box, and. . .I'm still eagerly waiting for the Spring issue of Airstream Life. And posts like yours, 2air, don't make the waiting any easier
Okay, I can wait, but my coffee's getting cold! ~G

ALL of Tin Hut's work catches me off-guard in a wonderful way. I hope he continues to be a contributing author.

Ahh. Two cool things for a warm winter day in the mail today. A vintage trailer postcard I got off e-Bay and Airstream Life.
Liked the article on the National Road. Great pics. Got my interest up again to take old Route 66 to the Midwest rally this spring.
The ice seems to have melted off the coach today. Makes one think about hittin' the road.
Tom.

Great feedback!
This is really helpful. We don't get a lot of specific feedback on articles and departments that people liked, so your comments are very welcome.
It helps me choose what to include in future issues. Keep 'em coming!

Biggest "problem" with this issue is that it is
NOT in my mailbox yet.
(sigh) oh, well. Bob's got his, and he's only a few miles from me. that must mean that mine will be here, soon.
what am I saying? this is the Post Office we're talking about. Wally-only knows when I'll finally see it...
(sigh)
