I want mine!! I want mine!! I want mine!! What is the shipping point of origin for the magazines? Is it a simple geography issue that some receive theirs sooner than others?..... I just hope and pray that I have it by the weekend!!

hi todd and other mail watchers.....

i know less than zipp about mail....
which must mean i'm qualified to comment.....

the mailer insert says "ferrisburg, vermont" ...so i wonder if this is the point of origin....

my imagination suggests it would be wiser to print and mail from the middle of america....or regional sites.

there is a notation stating.... that

"application to mail at periodical postage rates is pending at ferrisburg, vt and additional mailing offices"

so perhaps they are already using regional mailing points....or plan too.

i wanted to post a thread on vintage lightning.....

but, since very few have received the pulp yet.....best to hold off till more have read the piece and can participate in the thread.

one great thing about this community interaction is how we link so quickly on issues.....

what a great thing we have in these forums....

cheers

There is a very easy way to tell if you should have received your issue yet.

I'm always the last one to get it. So if I already have mine and you don't, then you've been missed.

I have not received mine yet, so you're still good.

Something Missing

I got mine a few days ago. Best issue yet!

But in Rich Charpenter's article: "The Silver Survival Pod", he left out something I thing is absolutely necessary to stock in a survival situation..

FIREPOWER!! He doesn't mention anything about having a firearm and having the skill and the will to use it if necessary.

If Katrina has taught us anything, it is that we cannot rely on the police/government to keep us safe in times of disaster. As with water, food, and shelter, we must rely on ourselves for our personal protection from the lawless.

"Don't leave home without one" (I don't) ....and be legal, get a concealed carry permit (unless you are one of the unfortunates who live in states without "shall issue" permit laws)

I still haven't received mine here in Spotsylvania, VA. I've already contacted Rich. Here is his reply on 5/14:

Hi Bob

Spring was mailed about May 3, so if it doesn't arrive in another week,
let me know and I'll replace it for you. Unfortunately, I have no
method to trace this. The post office says they should arrive in
three weeks but my experience has proven this is not reliable. The
post office doesn't even guarantee delivery! (Don't get me started on
that ...!) So all we can do is replace the ones that don't arrive.
Sorry!

I'll give the Post Office until 24 May. Rich does a great job replacing lost issues. I just wish the PO would do a better job delivering.

Another obvious example of the “Canadian Conspiracy
OMG my beer was made in Canada too!!
The conspiracy was revealed in the 1985 documentary linked above...

Lorne Greene: There's no connection whatsoever between Lorne Greene and Green Card.
Anne Murray: Well, there *has* to be a connection between Lorne Greene and the Green Card. Because all the people I know who have Green Cards know Lorne Greene

I wonder if it is because Airstream life is a "small" magazine that it gets such rotten treatment from the PO? My Trains and Classic Toy Trains always arrive on time. Smithsonian is the same always on time.......

I for one love the Canadain connection in life. I prefer it to Aisa.

Here I sit in Swampsville, GA, and no new issue. My previous ones also did not get to me without Rich's intervention, so now I have the mailman and our RV park manager looking out for it, and I'm checking every day.

It's amazing to me that BILLS never have any trouble going through, but if it's something I *WANT* I'll be the very last to get it.
