As a suggestion, I requested the two years of back issues from Santa this year. Guess it was a good year as he brought them to me - great evening activity - reading them and catching up on all the articles. What Fun!! Just a suggestion. Order info in most issues.

I'm nervous of signing up on line - given the mistakes in their sign up page info it's almost as if they have been hacked", the wording being more like I've seen when I get a letter offering to give me a bazillion dollars if I'll just cash a cheque and send it back to Kenya or something like that. Here's what is at the top - am I being too nervous?

Thanks Bill. Rich Luhr contacted me via email and I passed on the info so hopefully I'll be seeing a copy soon.
I'm always nervous of using my visa on line, particularly when there are wording or spelling mistakes in the request for that information.
Take care,
Barry

They are actually having the site corrected. An oversight apparently, which happens to us all.
I was just a tad nervous about putting my credit card number down when I wasn't quite sure - and Rich was quick to respond with an explanation which was much appreciated. Having managed to avoid the scams so far (well, except for an eBay seller who only provided 1/2 of what he was selling and then told me to just try putting a bad review on him and he'd slaughter me with the fact that he had over 1,000 reviews and I had fewer than 10 at the time).
What I do appreciate was how quickly you all responded, and Rich as well. And most importantly, that I got my subscription form completed and I'm now on the mailing list. Life is good.

Barry,
You'll love the magazine. When ours gets in my bride announces it by saying. "Your porno's here."

Goin, this is good to know. I hope it comes in a brown plain envelope so's the postie person doesn't get offended.
I still remember years ago when I was a skinny runt (okay, four plus decades ago), and ordering a Joe Weider Total Body Building Kit that was to come in a plain wrapped box. It shows up in a box with huge black bold lettering with "MR. Postman (yes, they were chauvinistic back then), watch Mr. Barry O grow from a weakling to a real man in 12 short weeks". I'm sure they didn't stop laughing at the post office for months over that one.
I'd hate to have the same thing happen with my Airstream Life magazine. I can see it now "Post Person (we are now politically correct) watch Mr. Barry O shine his Airstream to a hazy mirror like finish in just four years".

One thing we are all great at is putting out a first class single brand magazine. As many of you know, we don't all go to work each day in a big office building with corner offices and have daily staff meetings. That would be boring. We are all scattered across the country with our leader, up until very recently who knows where! It is a big step for ALM to get a dedicated web site and it does still need work. As you can imagine, we don't have a hugh budget for this sort of thing and Rich put the most effort into security for the site and reduced all of our saleries by 28% to pay for it! Give it some time and the website will evolve as well as the magazine has!
Rick

Love it like it is, even with flaws! Ya'll do a great job and I can't wait to get each issue. I have learned alot for the articles, especially the one about scams. That one has saved me once already this year!
Keep up the good work! And don't sweat the small stuff.

I just renewed my subscription for another 2 years. I recently wound up getting two issues for some reason. I contacted Rich directly and when the winter issue came out, I wound up getting three copies!
I only got two renewals so I just renewed the one subscription that indicated that I had received issues back to Summer '04 so I hope that will eliminate the duplicate issues...not that I mind, but I forget to give the extras away at rallies and still wind up with a duplicate.

Galylejoe - A great choice there. A GREAT PUBLICATION, worth every penny of the subscription cost. I get really excited when each new issue is due. The articles on scams and "fix-up suggestions" are the best.

You totally cracked me up with that one! I think that's one of the best compliments we've ever gotten!
By the way, I hope you know Rick was kidding when he said I reduced all salaries by 28%. Seriously, the people who work for Airstream Life contribute a lot of their time for little or no pay, much like the moderators of this forum, so I'm sure they appreciate your kind praise. The magazine, and indeed most of the Airstream universe (forum, club, blogs) could not exist without them. Thanks to the people who make it possible!
