Ah, that explains all of the non-residential conditions.

Actually, the area is improving rapidly, which is why I purchased land there to start with. 1200 new homes are going in a few blocks away with price tags of $400-500K. Rising property values are doing what urban renewal and the war on poverty could not. God bless capitalism and free market economy!

So, I will have good fence, outside area lighting with motion detectors, and alarm system.

Ken,
Fort Airstream looks fabulous! May I suggest a Gun Turret for the look out tower.. or maybe for the rally you can call in an old favor and get one of these for the entrance. A Bradley should serve as a good deterrent

Moving In...

My parking lot isn't paved yet, but I decided to take advantage of the lull between the winter storms to move the Airstream into its new home...

Way too cool. I just emailed your photos to my fiancee to get her approval for doing what you just finished. Mine may be have to be a bit bigger for three AS.

Just Wait 'til I get the Pink Flamingos

Thanks Rick. Thanks Mike. It'll be even nicer once I get the flock of pink flamingos for security.

Neat Freak.....

After further analysis of the photos I see mud on the ramp in and then it ends at the door lip. Did you wash the tires off with the hose on the fence as each axle was on the ramp? Ughhhhhhh, it's causing me great pain to look at them again.

Enjoy the garage - I'm envious.......

Great analysis and excellent attention to detail!
The plan was to back it in while the ground was still frozen. But it took me longer to retrieve the Airstream from RV parking than I planned. I didn't see the muddy mess on my freshly painted floor until I got out to unhitch.

The eight foot wide concrete apron would have been a great place to pause and hose off the tires. As it was, I had to swab mud off the deck before I could take the picture.

Oh My

Ken, This thing is fabulous! Did you do 4 season climate control? What a great little office/ kitchen. Looks like an awesome home away from home for both you and the airstream.

Thanks, Brent, and congratulations on your charter membership in the recently chartered Four Corners Unit.

Yes, we have heating and air conditioning.
I began preparations today for detailed restoration and polishing.
It was very pleasant to watch the storm move in over the mountains while I continued to putter away.
Best Regards,
