Airstream Gothic
If Grant Wood had paid a bit more attention to what really makes America tick, we might have had this hanging in Chicago's Art Institute today...

Cosmo, you flatter me. Those are truly classic works of art, right behind any velvet Elvis paintings.

Now does that come in a 30x40???? I would love that to hang in my Safari, oh, wait, that's half the size of the Safari, OK, I'll have to settle for a 16x20...
What an excellent pic!!!

American Genius
A stroke of genius, Brad! I now have new wallpaper on my monitor (hopefully with the permission of the Artist!!!
I recently visited Stone City, which is the setting of one of my favorite Woods paintings. We live about 30 miles south of Anamosa, Wood's hometown. Our little local home-town Carnegie library (unbeknowst to the rest of the world) has one of the largest collections of Wood lithos in the country. Too Cool!!!

Wow, thanks guys. Just goofing around, thought that poor couple needed a vacation. They're such sour pusses, you know?
Hey Tin Can, if you want I can send you a higher res version for your flamingo sale, which sounds pretty hilarious as is, without my pic! And any of you can use it, I certainly don't care!

Howdy X, thanks for asking! No project yet, since we're waiting for money, time, warmer weather... and most of all - closer proximity to it. It's at my father-in-law's about an hour north near Lake Geneva, WI. Without anyplace closer, I'm afraid we'll either have to:
1. Work on it very peacemeal, a weekend or two each month over the course of several years... or,
2. Sell the condo and find a tiny little home in our area with a backyard large enough to shoehorn her in. I figure if you can't see it from the street, no one can complain, right? We'll simply plant several tall coniferous trees along the fence and voila - I'll be able to work on her every spare minute. I am SO flippin' excited!

Ouch!!! When the 76 was parked an hour away, I found that it was TOO far away to get motivated to work on it. Sounds like it's time to move....

Well, heck John! Why don't you just get started for us then? Tell ya what -get the body off that nasty frame, drop the belly pan, get all that moldy insulation out... and I'll be up next weekend to take the frame for powdercoating.
See you then?

Really- you should make a poster quality picure of the new american gothic and sell it at rallies- I'd love one! And what's this about a flamingo garage sale, Tin Can Luv? Do we get a preview of things on sale? I'm sure Jim wouldnt mind holding things at his restaurant until the next family trip! He'd probably roll his eyes at his aunt's gauche taste- he just doesnt understand the FUN of it! I love your couple! silver suz
