Oh my gosh! That's MY Bambi! The dead giveaway was the cheap RV light under the back window, and the plastic water fill on the front (and the awning, and the antenna that's bigger than it is). As soon as I saw it I knew
That really breaks my heart! The bambi was in such nice shape when I sold it to a lady in MN. It was all there, complete inside, ready to be used, and she planned to restore it. How did it end up being gutted and turned into a studio
Steph: My sincerest condolences. It looks like it was a wonderful Bambi, in too good a condition to gut and make into an indoor sound room. Just think of all the other empty end-of-the-road Airstreams out there that could have better served that purpose. Your former trailer died too young, with so much more life and adventure ahead of it. Maybe someone will resurrect it someday and get it rolling down the highway again.

It was a little jewel. We saw an ad for it, drove six hours, and immediately fell in love (because as everyone who's seen a Bambi knows - they're ADORABLE). I had bought it thinking I would modernize it and make a really hip little camper out of it, but it was too perfect to mess with too much - it just needed a light going over. We ended up having to decide between the two, and the Bambi was sold to pay for the Caravel's axel. I always hoped I'd run into it again at a rally though. It was way too nice to be gutted!
That is sad. I use the Minuet as a studio for the voice work that I do for WCB but will not change anything. Camping is the first use, studio is just a side line for the Minuet.

It was not gutted when i bought... But it was a good thing that it was...The floor was rotted out and it was inhabited by mice.. so the smell of course was wonderful.. this is what it looks like now...Charlie's Poddy - a photoset on Flickr
Well, I'm glad you guys are enjoying it. It was definitly not a mouse house when I sold it, and the floor was pretty solid. The thing is, it's the travelling that makes an Airstream the icon it is. It saddens us to see one parked, especially after 40+ years of use. But hey, life goes on. It does look very cool the way you have it outfitted now.
