Air Forum Update Needed

Is there any chance the "Quick Links" box in the top right side of the guest page can be moved over to the left so that it does not activate every time my mouse crosses it after returning the page to the top????

Why, when not signed in, when my mouse activates the box "JOIN NOW its FREE" I am invited to join a "FOREST RIVER FORUM"??????

Better yet is there a way to get rid of it altogether? It is a first rate pain.

Don't you have a scroll wheel on your mouse? 21st century technology will fix that for you...

Thumbs up One of the "Supporting Member" Benefits...

If you are talking about the "Page Peel" and are a "Supporting Member" (gold rivet) go into your "UserCP" > "Edit Your Details" then scroll down to the bottom and check the box in the "Remove Page Peel in Upper Right Corner" section (last boxed section).

If you aren't already a supporting member, go to the same place and it tells you how to become one.

No Shari, I am talking about that Blue Box (QUICK LINKS) hanging off the back of that trailer on the right top of the page. It is there also after you sign in and because of the location, when I drag the cursor across it, it opens when not wanted. It would be better located to the left, with the other selection boxes.
The page peel was also a PITA but I did get it under control.

Dave
ps: maybe it is the rain and cold that is making my owly.

Thanks for pointing out the Forest River text - we'll get that fixed. You can avoid the 'Join' window by logging in

As for the quick links tab.... well... we put it there because several folks asked. It you just keep your mouse moving however, it will close once you move past that area but your comments are noted and I'll pass them along.

Question? why is your mouse in the upper right corner? My mouse stays clear of that area, it doesn't like the (quick link) box, and so never ventures there unless forced to by it's master.

Gee, as a newby my "mouse" - the cursor from my trackpad - seems to always cross the "Classifieds" which seem to always pop up right after I open a new tab (I stay "signed on.")

"Pretty clever of those mods..." I thought. So, BURST MY BUBBLE!

Ok, it must me me but I never have had this problem and I'm kind of jealous about it. Maybe I need to switch from a macbook pro using safari to the pc and conventional windows explore. maybe than I could have this problem. Is this how you get these glorious pop up and pop open windows. do you have to use a pc? is there something over there that i'm not using? because I'm never over there.

Did they ask for the function or the location. Those of us that use the scroll bar to drop down on the page cross it ever time we go to or leave that corner of the page. If you go to retrieve a PM you cross it. Would it not serve the same needs of those who asked for it if it were moved to the left. That would put it to the left of the rear tire of the last trailer in the header giving clearance enough to remove the problem.

LOL; we got rid of our Forest River product - don't want to go back there ... not funny, however, if it is annoying you ...

Now, now... careful with the OS proselytizing.

In Safari on OSX Lion those tabs pop open if you mouse over them, just like they do in Chrome in Windows (or OSX). It's just a question of how you navigate around the screen. I use page up/page down more than the mouse and don't have issues with those tabs opening unexpectedly on either platform.

I think I will stay with the nonsence of the Quick Ling getting in the way every time I approach the upper right corner of the page. However I could give up on the young blonde pictured and appearing in place of the Martini ad asking to be my friend and only 2.5 miles away. I thought this Forum had just a bit more class than that.

I must be projecting the wrong image to Google with my trailer searches.

Howie, I've never seen the young blonde. I would like to though. Maybe she is a function of your thread choices........I must be doing something wrong.

Just make your window wider. Then when you finish scrolling there's room between your cursor and the quick links box.

It has never been a problem for me and I think that may be why.

So now your telling me it"s my fault!

Because I find it easier to look at, I always have the screen at 125%, which displays the full Air Forums screen.

I would still like the "Quick Links" box moved over to join the other boxes and that way we would be able to see the back of that nice single axle trailer.

Thanks for correcting the "FOREST RIVER" goof.

Dave

A note somewhere near the page header, saying "Best viewed at WWWW×HHH screen resolution" with the "WWWW×HHH" being the screen size used by the page designers, would help clear up some of the problems, allowing users to set their screen display to that resolution or larger.

Of course, going to a larger screen resolution to see the full page width at once might also prompt some users to ask for a "large print for old eyes" version since the bigger the numbers in the screen resolution the smaller everything looks. Can't please everybody; some of us just aren't happy without something to complain about.

Spell check is a function of your browser and/or computer, I think, not the forums. With Chrome's spell check, I can add words to its dictionary and then they don't get flagged the next time.

Airstream is accepted with Fire Fox. And I just added Airstreamers to that dictionary.

When posting right click a misspelled word and see if you can add it to your system
