Picked up "Goliath" this morning, then took it to the storage lot and parked him, so it is safe and sound. He is back to his very gorgeous self. You would not guess what he went through! Mercedez-Benz of Littleton Colorado did an excellent job. I am very pleased. I will plan on bringing it back home periodically, to pack things in, but, not for more than a couple days at a time.
I will go back and take it to a wt station, then back to storage.

Sorry for what you have been through! Well done on the new setup. Lesser mortals might have caved.
A reminder to update your homeowner and auto insurance to cover all the changes. With a new valuable RV, some policy limits may need to be increased, or perhaps a rider added to really protect you IMO. An umbrella of some kind also?
Now -- let The Summer Games Begin!
Cheers,
Peter

Thanks for the tip Peter. When faced with adversity, I usually am more level headed. However, the frustration, coupled with my Irish anger, most definitely got in the way.
In any event, once I got control of my anger, I was able to problem solve...with rationality. LOL!
I have all of my insurance needs with Allstate...have had for many decades. They did a separate policy for the RV, (not included with autos). I am qualified for various discounts, which helps a lot. I also have a "gap policy" for 10 years through the dealership. That, of course, would only kick in with a "totaled accident" of some sort. Hope to never need that.
I just made reservations yesterday for a 5 day camping trip to Chatfield state park, (Colorado). My adult granddaughter will go with. She will sleep in a tent...we'll need to dig one out from old gear in basement.
Thus far....I have reservations for: 1. Ray's Greenhorn boondocking trip in western Colorado (1 week). 2. Chatfield SP (5 days). 3. Jackson Hole, Wy. KOA (3 days). 4. Ft. Stevens SP, Oregon (12 days). Need to plan more for this season!

Today, I went to RV storage lot to dump tanks before taking "Goliath" to get it weighed, (a requirement of DMV for registration). Black tank, then grey tanks dumped...with ease...at the touch of a button. All went well...till I pushed button to retract hose reel...NOTHING!
So, there I am ....with ~ 12 feet of hose, no workable reel...no one in site to ask for help. I called service guy in Ft Worth...he thinks a fuse may have blown...so we go inside to search for fuse box location...found it under ottoman ...one needs a flashlight, had one...so down on hands and knees to try to identify correct fuse...tiny print not easy to read. Found it! Fuse is blown. Thank goodness, my sales guy, Brant gave me a supply of extra fuses! Fuse changed...hose reeled in...all is well.
Moral of this tale...get a good varietal supply of fuses and keep them handy. Not a bad idea to ask for some before you leave your dealership. Can you imagine the situation, if you are out in the middle of nowhere at a dump station...hose extended and no auto reel! Not good! Oh, "Goliath" weighs a 'trim' 9460 lbs.

Great idea to have several fuses of every size in your kit, good flashlight and a pair of needle nose pliers.

Or a real plastic fuse puller that fits the fuses is safer. You don't want to short stuff out with the pliers....tends to let the 'magic smoke' out.

I picked up at Hobby Lobby, I think, a set of round, clear plastic organizer somethings that screw together, and I keep fuses of different sizes in it.
You can find a lot of handy little things in the section for beading.

For now, my fuse kit is in ziplock bag. Maggie, I do like the idea of little containers to put them in...I will look & see what I can find. Recommended by my service guy....go to auto zone & get "automatic reset fuses and fuse puller"....don't like idea of pliers, as it would be my luck to 'make the wrong contact' and fry the whole board! (Including me!) I don't like to press my luck with electrical stuff! LOL!
