I could not tell you, have had it a year or so.

Maybe one of those huge truck plaza places with stores in them??

Could probably find one on Amazon.

Ok thanks. Have often wondered if there was such a thing. Thanks for confirming my suspicions

I see them on Amazon, and also at WalMart.

Check the maximum pressure rating for your tires on the door label. If it is close to 80 psi, many of these dollar store compressors will not inflate to that level. Read the fine print on the write up of the compressor for the volume of air produced (cfm = cubic feet per minute). The higher the number the better.

All the best.

Thanks, switz.

Looking at these little compressors online, WalMart has a 12volt SlimLine without all the bells and whistles, for $16.00 or so. These have a pretty high rating.

Would be very handy for the bicycle tires, so I think I will pick one up.

If I were to find a tire completely flat, where I couldn't drive on it, I would call AAA.

That's why I have them.

However, should I be somewhere where there is no signal to call AAA, the little guy might inflate at least to the point I could drive into a town.

I have a Black and Decker air station that works on either 12 v or AC. And I can use it to blow my lines foe winter ozone ans it inflates our bicycle tires in a jiffy. Have used on the AS to keep tires properly inflated prior to trips as well

I haven't really cried since I got back from Minnesota last month, but something got to me this afternoon as I was loading the Interstate.....talking to Doug, telling him how much I missed him, that this is just not the same without him, all that.

I have determinedly not been looking for signs that he is near, trying hard to let go and to encourage him to settle into spirit life. As I'm putting things away, tho, "Claire de Lune" starts playing in my head.

Some fairly new Airstream friends of ours sent me an e-card after Doug died, that played this tune. It was so very beautiful and haunting, and so sweet of them.

I haven't heard the tune since I played this card last, I'm sure not since before the funeral. I seriously try to not take myself back into those early days and weeks, avoiding things that are visceral reminders, as the knot in the stomach comes back very quickly.

But, it popped into my head this afternoon, as I was talking to and missing Doug, and I feel sure he sent it to me. I felt he was telling me he misses me too, that he is here with me, and wanted me to know.

A mini-meltdown, but it didn't last too long. Still a work in progress, I guess.

This time tomorrow, Lily and I should be settled into a campsite, and I don't know if there will be much in the way of signal up there. Will drop in when I can.

It is hot and humid as blue blazes, as Doug would say. Try to stay cool.

Lily and I took a slow drive on the backroads to Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore today, and settled into a nice campsite near a bathhouse.

This is a beautiful place, if you've never been, and also has a good Verizon signal.

They have a new-this-season electronic, self-registration system here, a kiosk that only takes debit or credit cards. Nowhere on the machine, the printout, online, or in the literature you self-serve does it say that your site selection, once made, is engraved in stone.

I registered for one site, then decided I preferred another (both were empty). Oops. Thinking this could easily be remedied, the camp hosts were instead nearly apoplectic that I was in a site other than what was on my machine-generated printout. They insisted there was nothing to be done to fix it, they could not give me the new site "for free", and I needed to move to the site (in this nearly empty campground) on my ticket or "law enforcement" would "make" me. All sites are the same price, and I had paid for 8 nights.

They then told me they had no phone number for me to speak with a ranger, no one I could appeal to. I needed to move, period. It was raining, I just had my sweaty self out of the shower, and it was after 5pm. Hmmmm. A quick look online got me a phone number for a human, I explained the problem, and a nice ranger then appeared who assured me this could and would be taken care of, and I could stay where I was.

I did find a small, 12volt compressor this morning which will inflate my bicycle tires and also a vehicle tire in an emergency in about 15 minutes. It works well, very compact, and inexpensive. I never knew such a thing existed, but then I haven't looked. Technology these days is really amazing.

We're planning on relaxing here til after the holiday weekend. It's much cooler just these few hours north, and is a beautiful, foresty, campground......with paved pads.

Have a good holiday weekend.

I'll take some pictures tomorrow.

It's dark outside right now.
