A Thanksgiving Tradition for Me

As with all Thanksgivings, here I sit listening to Alice's Restaurant thinking

"Kid have you rehabilitated yourself?"

I have to go now, its time to watch A Christmas Story!

Rehabilitated? Naw I'm still a litterbug............

Thank you, Ed... brought back my college memories!

And thank you, Arlo Guthrie.

This is his most famous song and is based on a true incident and was released in 1967:

Alice's Restaurant

It's a tradition on Chicago's WXRT radio Thanksgiving morning as well.
Waking up to snow today definitly made it feel all the more so.
For all things Jean Shepard and Christmas Story drop by Flicklives.com.
IMHO Shep is one of the great modern American story-tellers and writers.

Happy Thanksgiving to All,
Tom.

As a kid in high school in New Jersey, I would listen to the highly entertaining and creative stories told by Jean Shepherd broadcasted in the evenings on WOR-AM out of New York.

If it were snowing, we'd gather around the radio in the morning and listen with excited anticipation to WOR announce the school closings.

Anyone that will be near the west side of Cleveland, Ohio should stop and tour the house from the Christmas Story movie. Check it out here: Home - A Christmas Story House - Ralphie’s House Restored to its A Christmas Story Splendor
