It has been well documented here and elsewhere, 3 Airstreams is the socially defined breaking point. Should you go to 4, you become a dealer and would need special zoning. Plus, the concept of a "free weekend" will vanish.

You might just be onto something there Bob....
So the break over point from "enthusiast" to "addict" occurs after three Airstreams? IMHO owning one Airstream is bad enough, I can't recall a "free weekend" since ours followed me home. P.

Summerkid- your darn lucky to see his true colors BEFORE his name was added on the deed to your house!
And we all need a better approach- When I was living in Phoenix, on my way to Luke Airforce Base for my first Statistics test...my Jeep caught on fire on the freeway- I exited with a towel to dampen the flames, I am in my nursing scrubs, not a damn soul stopped to help!
I had to take my trauma scissors and cut the wires under the truck going to the traile light plug in- boy I was PO'd to be under the truck in my uniform

And yeah, Chika, I know about Hong Kong. My dad fetched home a mail-order bride from there about 10 years ago & all he could talk about was the escalators that take commuters up & down the cliffs.

Summerkid,
You could always post an ad in the classifieds section...something like this:
"Cool, hip, fun, female Airstream owner seeking male Airstream owner for travel, companionship and Airstream restorations. Must be honest, handsome and handy. Sheetmetal and cabinetry skills a plus. Please send picture of Airstream."

No, but you "single" singles must mingle among yourselves ... no trying to date the real players.

I have a solution to offer, basically the same one we struck: Buy an RV park and give discounts to WBCCI folks. Admittedly a very expensive solution, but NOBODY complains about the 1967 sitting out there, not even the ones arriving with their Prevosts. (Well, they don't complain after I point out that the Airstream belongs to us.)

So, if I am single, with multiple personality disorder, do I get a group discount to the singles activities?

Technically, a kodiak bear can fit in a Bambi.

Hmmm, Summergirl, I'm not single but I'd be glad to teach the cabinetry (with LOML's approval of course). The trade would be you have to find me a 26' or shorter AS that I can afford to pick up and restore. I need a shorter AS to get into some of the state parks and want to "practice" before I take on my current one!

Just out of curiosity, what is the general idea of an affordable restoration job? The days when people expected to find a trailer for $800 that just needed spiffing up are gone, right?
I've paid around 3k for 2 trailers that are either gut jobs or frame repairs, but one is very rare & specific to my needs (the '47 westcraft trolley top) and a '66 GT because they're relatively scarce but still affordable.

I would assume the cost of restoration depends on your definition. Original vs. Custom. Livable vs. Primo.
Here's my sign...

Too bad Airstreams aren't like those painted, wooden, Russian nesting dolls! If they were, you could temporarily store them inside each other while working on them. Problem solved!
Why, just bump that Bambi into your Caravel! Cram the Caravel in the GlobeTrotter... glide that gutted Globe into a Safari! Slide the Safari into a Tradewind! Tuck that Tradewind... you get the idea.

Yup - I can't resist. It's like a little competition with myself to see how quickly I can do it before having to get back to work. If I weren't self-employed, I'd be so fired by now.
Actually, I did put my graphic goof-offs to good use about a year ago... I designed a product completely in Photoshop - never even built it - and ended up selling the invention to this company:
http://griffintechnology.com/product...ight/index.php
I've gotten a buck for every one of the 10K they've sold! Not bad, eh?
