Santee Cats

Thats a minner'

Come on down here to SC where we boast many catfish records.

The Santee Lakes are famous for catfish in the 100+ lb range.

We will be Rallying there in September, come and bring your deepsea rigs for some BIG catfish.

53FC, I had the very same thought as soon as I saw the photo-gotta be an ol' Missouri River catfish. I grew up seeing my neighbors haul home HUGE cats from their river fishing! How do you know about the big ones that are in the Muddy MO-or used to be?

Is it edible when it gets that big? If it's a catfish-a bottom feeder- think of all the toxics it's picked up and stored in it's fat for that long a life. eeeuewwwh. :0 . Then again I have NEVER tasted catfish! (amazing-huh??!!!) Or is this another photophoney? silver suz

Suz,
I wouldn't eat one that size And yes they do get that size....and larger Farm raised catfish is actually pretty good, they feed them on some type of corn based diet. We have quite a few catfish farms in the area.
