Happy Birthday from the Senior class of 1966. I think what Robert Cross wrote is very true. Sixty is the new 40-I believe that too, now I just have to convince my body! LOL

Been there, done that ...

and it's not as bad as it sounds. The only thing is - remember that "they say" that short term memory is the first thing to go. And then after that, maybe long term memory, too. And remember that "they say" that short term memory is the first thing to go.

Happy birthday, friend. My 60s sucked! Lots of surgeries, kids started their lives, bought an Airstream.....HEY, that wasn't so bad. Bought an Airstream....what a great life! Now that I can see the bottom side of 71 and in a few weeks I celebrate 40 years with Lynn. Yeah, I see it now, the 60s gave me strength for the 70s. Yeah, enjoy your 60s because your 70s will be AWSOME!

Paula,

It sounds like you had a great day!

We celebrated Gemma's birthday with family at Golden Gate Park too! We went to the new Academy of Sciences building-it's amazing with lots to see and do.

Please send our best to Steve.

We'll look forward to seeing you in April at Cassini!

A little belated, but congrats on the BD. Made that turn myself and feel, most of the time, that I'm just picking up speed (I hope that doesn't mean I'm going down hill faster!!). I hope you have many more of them.

Happy BD!

I left the sixties several years ago (I'm a 1935 Classic). I can honestly say that each decade of my life has been good. This doesn't mean I've had no difficulties or challenges--I've had many. So does everyone else. I live simply, with contentment for what I have, refusing to ridiculously chase after lost youth. I find it sad when I see an older man or woman trying to dress in the current fads. But I really relate to what Condiluminum wrote:
Quote:
Just get used to having conversations with various body parts or regions asking why they refuse to cooperate and do their jobs...
So far I've had little response to these talks!

I've enjoyed more than 52 years with Bert, the wife of my youth. We're planning to stick together and hang around for a lot more years. Just one thing as it relates to this forum. I'm hoping and praying that I will have the smarts to determine when it is time to quit towing and part with the Airstream, I still do pretty well, but how does one judge objectively? Oh well, that is probably a discussion for another time.

Gene
