A Look Back - 2009
Tomorrow is a day of giving thanks and as we approach the end of 2009 I tend to look back on the highlights of the year. With all the bad economic news, job losses and mayhem being reported on the news these days it's easy to lose sight of the good things that happen to us.
That being said anyone care to share their good things from 2009?

Our Airstream trip out to California and points. We spent 56 days in Lucy and got to see a bunch of neat things. Airstream traveling also makes the bad news of the day seem less important.

2009... Bought an airstream, and tow vehicle. Found this forum. Found a great unit of the WBCCI. Read this forum and realized how lucky the last item was! Laughed harder than I have in a long time:
Me; You know if we get an airstream, we will need to get a new TV.
wife; I thought the whole idea of an air stream was to get away from it all and that included phones and TV. Why do we need to buy another one!

We are thankful to survive two major events while having a great trip north, as first major month long MH adventure.
Good news is that the electrical fire while at Jackson Center was easy to put out, even easier fix due to advice from AS technicial manager.
Complete loss of brakes couldn't have happened at a better place, Audubon Park, Kentucky, friendly people, easy fix and great service from GS emergency roadservice.

We puchased our Airstream this year, and have had lots of great short trips in it.
Looking forward to the day when we can venture farther away from home, and see parts of the country we've never seen.

Only 10, but in order of importance.....
1. Another great year with my bride of 29 yrs.
2. Another year of enjoying the freedoms of our great country.
3. Good health.
4. Retirement - after 30 yrs. in the military, and 15 w/corporate America.
5. Our 30-day Western adventure, as chronicled in "2009 Great American Road Trip."
6. Stocks that are recovering.
7. Various camping trips with forum friends.
8. Good whiskey.
9. Canopener 2009
10. Joining, and resigning, the WBCCI within a six-month period.
In the words of many......"is this a great country, or what?"

I was under employed instead of un employed, and because of that I got to spend 60 nights with my wife in our Airstream this year.

This was written for Thanksgiving but since it now the last day of 2009 I am bringing the "Look Back at 2009" subject up again.
For me:
Glad to be an American...Spent a couple of months living overseas and gained a distinct appreciation for Home.
My SO said yes to the ring.
Made many new acquaintances and some friendships along the way.
Happy New Year all,
Kevin

Why 2009 was great!
1). Family all healthy
2). We are employed
3). Roof over our heads, in America, land of the free - home of the brave
4). We bought our first RV and she is an AIRSTREAM!
I'm smiling! Life is good!

2009 was a great year for Eric and I. We got our first Airstream and this weekend our tv will show up. Eric says he is thankful to have a job and I am thankful for good grades this semester. The funnest thing I did this semester was be a teachers assistant in a third grade class in Berkeley. Kids are pretty cool people.
2010 will see me planting a vegetable garden, think epic!
smiles for miles

I am thankful for my family, health, job and the time I get to spend with my children and our friends. We have had our Airstream for 2 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. I would like to travel a little more this year to other locations and other rallies.
