Thanks, Channing.

I did hang the comforter outside in the steady breeze for quite awhile after spraying it yesterday, which dried the spray and helped rid it of dog hair, sand and odor.

Sand blows into her coat, then sifts out wherever she lays. I brush her and keep my little hand vac charged to clean up after her all day, but it never ends.

Life at the beach, with dogs.

My biggest cleaning challenge, traveling and at home, but she gives so much in love, affection and companionship that there's almost nothing I wouldn't do for her.

Lily wakes up in the mornings, touch-deprived from the night, and curls up next to...and draped over...me while I drink my coffee. My right hand manages my coffee mug and the iPad, the left one is on her, stoking her up.

Tornadoes, severe hail, boats run aground, etc., but it missed us here but for some rain and wind.

We got to the beach twice yesterday, anyway.....it's why we're here.

Blackie likes the same routine. She's under my desk right now, wondering why I stop petting her so I can type. She'll get more and more insistent as time for her breakfast approaches.

Maggie, so glad to know the bad storms missed you. You must be in a " special place"! That...and...an angel watches over you. Blessings. Evelyn.

All is well, we have had a long and busy day.

I have to do monthly labs, and am about to be at Edisto for 2 weeks....where no Quest nor other such place exists...so I did them early, driving to the hospital complex in Myrtle Beach, as the Quests in Charleston are not open on Saturday.

It was Myrtle Beach or nothing....and a pretty good drive up there from here.

Crazy traffic, then afterwards the largest TJMaxx I have ever seen, which had to have a walk thru and a few things purchased , then WalMart for dog food, carrots for Lily and a couple of other things, then laundry, then dumping the tanks.

I had to go out, so why not do it all at once, right?

As soon as we got back to the campground, of course, Lily had to go the beach, so we spent an hour out there.

I am just now eating leftover pasta, my first sustenance since a banana and cold turkey sausage for breakfast.

Haven't done my Friday cleaning.....but, this week it will be done on Saturday.

I am tired, I need a shower.....and, a glass of wine.

Heading back to James Island in the morning, for a night....then, Edisto.

Maggie,
Been following along and enjoying as usual. Now I will get the thread on my phone. Glad all is well with you and Lilly. When we were in Charleston over Labor Day, we drove through the campground at James Island. Nice. We are still suffering winter but counting the days till I pull ours out of the hangar and start another season. That is very good for my outlook.
Safe travels

Hi Maggie!

A friend of mine told me that if you have wine which is too sweet, you can "cut" the sweetness by pouring some beer into it. I haven't tried it yet, so I can't personally say it works, but would be worth a try. We picked up some bottles of dandelion wine some time ago to try since we'd always heard so much about it. The wine itself was very good, but it was also very sweet. By the time we heard about using the beer to cut the sweetness, we had already drank and/or shared bottles with friends as gifts so it was gone and couldn't try the beer.

If you ever come to Ohio, we have some very good wineries here.

Thanks for dropping in, Dave and Debbie!

Deb, I have to say, the thought of mixing beer with wine, and then drinking it, turns my stomach. I'll keep it on mind, tho.

I am not a beer drinker on a good day, tho occasionally would have a swig of Doug's when it was icy cold.

I am very aware, especially after a busy day of choring like yesterday, the level of ownership I have adopted for chores and tasks, both while traveling and at home.

Things I once tearfully dragged myself thru have now become automatic.

Time...heals.

Beer and wine mix doesn't sound good to me too! Maggie, if you ever come to the Kansas City Missouri area I'll treat you to some Missouri wines. We have some nice vineyards here in the state. My family owns one!

Settled back into JICP for the night, after a stop at TJ's to stock up on coffee.

Had the bright idea this morning that a length of vinyl tablecloth would do for an outside rug at Edisto, so for the bargain price of $7 at Hobby Lobby, I came away with 2 yards of a black with white medallion-type design.

It is nice to have an outside mat for when you are camped on dirt or sand, but they are such space hogs I cannot even think of having one in here. They really help to keep crud out, also gives you a clean, dry space to step on if you want to be outsid sipping coffee barefoot of a morning.

So, for a fraction of the space, weight, and cost, I will have something color coordinated with the Interstate, and which can be swept, shaken and washed.

If it only holds up thru the 2 weeks at Edisto, it is still $7 well spent.

We'll give it a try, and see how it works.

I've noticed that a lot of rv'ers have the outside rugs strapped onto the ladders of their rigs... I don't know if you have a ladder on the Interstate... the Bvan does... and I thought that was a good way to go... I'm with you on the rug outside the door... I kept a small section of outside carpet, about 2 1/2 x 5, because it's often "damp" here...hahaha... read that rainy!!! ok, hugs and love...keep having fun!!!

I found an outside rug at a Giant Tiger here that was only 4' X 5'. Not big enough to make a patio but enough to cover the entrance and keep the sand out of the rig. If you want I'll bring one to Wyoming.

Thanks, Gearheart, but that is too big to carry, too.

I think this length of tablecloth vinyl will probably do just fine, tho I have yet to lay it out will get a picture of us all set up....at Edisto Beach.

Been gone 7 weeks, and everything to this point has been "until we get to Edisto".

This place had our heart from the first drive down here 8 years or so ago, and it still has mine, wholly and completely, thoroughly and without reservation.

All roads lead here.

This is going to work just fine, tho I should have gotten 3-4 yards, rather than just two.

That rig is in one of the sites that parallel the dunes....they have a view of the beach all the time.

Those sites are a bit too exposed to suite me. I like the partial shelter of the palmettos that are back here just a few feet.
