Darling daughter and I had a very productive morning, and have the main part of the house now pretty well put together.

SIL will come home tonight and not recognize the front room, his man cave, cleared of tools, boxes of books, etc., now stuffed into his office for him to putter with organizing while off these next couple of weeks.

"Hey, where's my stuff!"...I can just hear him.

Friends of D's here for lunch today...Italian Beef in the IP ...friends of mine will be here tomorrow afternoon and for dinner.

It got down into the teens last night, with wind, and this morning there was no water to the toilet. Still none, tho I see no sign of frozen pipe behind the toilet or underneath the motorhome.

Furnace and space heater are both running, and I was comfortably warm sleeping last night.

Set the space heater in the bathroom for several hours, still no water to the toilet.

Supposed to be a low of 7 tonight, then going to warm up.

I guess then I will find out what is going on.

It's colder there than up here in southern Ontario. Lows of the high teens is all we have.

I would suggest leaving the cabinet door under the refrigerator open.
From what I've seen, that is how the plumbing gets to the toilet.

Ohh, thanks, Mark....that had not occurred to me, tho other lower cabinet doors where the water tank and some canned things live are open. I will do it.

It is so cold here the air hurts when you walk outside, but it is just the one night then is to be 45 tomorrow. Never got above freezing all day today.

D & I had a hot whiskey this evening....yum, warms you from the inside out, and just the thing on such a cold night.

Some hot whiskey sounds good!

I was just in that cabinet and running my endoscope under the bathroom/shower today (routing wires). So it was freshly on my mind.

Another first....single digit temps, with a -2 windchill, while sleeping in the Interstate.

Encased in microfleece head to toe, furnace and space heater running, we slept quite comfortably, and nothing (additional) has frozen up.

Going to take a super LED flashlight to the area under the frig today, and see if I can see anything going on under there, also set the space heater to direct that way.

I ordered glass and silicone lids for my IP yesterday...seem to be necessary accessories for regular use, particularly the glass lid for holding something once cooked.

A nifty little travel item, this Instant Pot.

D is impressed with its speed and ease of use, particularly as the lid to her crockpot is still missing from the move.

A busy day, did a lot of cooking and had company for dinner.

An enjoyable evening with good people, and Lily is exhausted.

Interestingly, tho she and the bulldog are still going toe to toe, something passed between Lily and the cat when we came back on Friday, and they have decided to peacefully coexist....the cat now roams freely in the house, and Lily doesn't bark or chase her back into the bedroom.

All is well, tho still no water to the toilet.

Have decided to begin my wander toward home on Wednesday, with a slightly southern route rather than the most direct, straight across the country.

Because, it will be warmer, and prettier.

Leave them with their time off and the house to themselves.

Sleep..soon.

Thanks, Bill.

Starting to look forward to home, thinking about yard and house things needing done, taxes to have prepared , getting back to my needlework group, etc.

Nice to be gone, always good to be home.

Sweet son turns 45 tomorrow, and coming up close on 3 years since Doug has died....lots of water under the bridge these past 3 years, me and my life have definitely changed. Sigh.

I miss him every day, but we are doing okay here, and I am grateful for that.

D and I are going to spend the day out, leave SIL to referee the dogs and enjoy the otherwise quiet.

Tomorrow will finish some choring here and ready the Interstate to head toward home.

D and I are back, it is 45 degrees....and water to the toilet is running with no sign of leaks anywhere!

SIL reports Lily and the bulldog had no issues while I was out of the picture.

We stopped in a really nice, well-stocked pet store near Trader Joe's, where I found this bumper magnet my daughter insisted I buy...

True, if you are another dog.

Your SIL has the "it" with respect to dogs if the two had no issues while you where gone. He should consider becoming a handler, a great experience and job. Safe Travels

Hi Bud, and thanks.

You are right about SIL....a police detective, he "handles" for a living, tho people.

He thinks the turning factor with the dogs is my presence....Lily doesn't want that bulldog near me, tho he likes me and wants me to pet him. He puts that toothy muzzle up to me, and she just freaks out.

Lily has had an extraordinarily averse reaction to this particular dog, which I recall happening only a couple of times in the past, but we're leaving tomorrow so she, and he, can relax.

The bulldog is really getting the idea of using the backyard, now goes to the door and noses it to be let out, is exploring the further reaches, etc.

The cat discovered the garage last night, and when retrieved sat at the door to it and yowled to be allowed to return.

Lots of interesting smells out there, I am sure.

They are becoming country animals, exposed to things they've never before experienced.
