And when the kids got home, we found another one.

How old is he?? Gracie will do that if it's nasty outside... she knows, even through she's 13,nearly deaf, almost blind and spoiled... she know when the weather is bad...
Ok, have a lovely evening there... I'm enjoying this interesting stopover in our trip... Hugs and love and pats from out here

I agree with Gerard....that was a "payback poop"! Looks like SIL has some work ahead showing that bulldog who is boss. Hopefully he will acclimate to his new surroundings soon.

My dogs are little, and even in a blizzard with low temps, I put a coat on them and out they go to do their business. The colder it is, the faster they "get down to it."

The dog is 13, and I think is adjusting well to the house, where his people and favorite pieces of furniture are, not so much to a yard to do his business in.

He's a city dog, now with a backyard. Weather was beautiful yesterday, so that was not the issue.

I suspect Lily doesn't like the way this dog looks, and that's why she hasn't settled down around him, always showing her own teeth and barking, often with those sharp, warning barks.

He probably appears aggressive to her, tho he isn't...lots of teeth out there in front.

We'll figure it out.

I fed him his dinner yesterday, so maybe that will encourage him to want to please me.

Looks like he was chasing an Airstream that had really good brakes, better than his anyway.

What was Mr. Bulldog's potty routine back in the city apartment? Did they take him out for walks, was he paper trained, or what? You seem to be in an "old dog, new tricks" situation with him. This may well be the first back yard he's ever seen.

This isn't his Bulldog, but a pic I found online that is a very close resemblance.

I think it's the face and teeth Lily doesn't like.

I don't blame her.

SIL walked him 3xday in the city, tho he didn't like it and it was long enough just to let him take care of business.

He has never had a yard before but that's where they want him to go...he will figure it out, we just have to be persistent with him.

Have been picking up things D found on Craigslist this am...stools for the center island, and a nice wool rug to go with their new sectional.

So you picked up stools, in more ways than one. I bet he figures it out.

Put a leash on him and all the time watching so he does not get caught on something and grab it when he needs to go. Take him out and stay there with him until he does, then praise. Not sure his age, but if young he's going to be an issue as he ages. Above all else, try to stay calm, very calm. If one gets angry or excited he does not understand anger, sees it as instability and will take charge, which he has done. Deep breaths, calm and forceful, but not with anger.

Thanks, Bud.

Watching him with my daughter yesterday, he is doing the same thing with her...he doesn't ask to go out, as he doesn't know to do that, SIL walked him before work, after work, and at night.

Now there's this yard he's expected to use.

We need to watch him when he is up and moving, and get him outside.

Thank goodness the snow has melted, because I feel quite sure he would not lower his behind into that to do his business.

I put together an egg bake last night, with wheat bread, eggs, cooked sausage, milk, a little brown sugar and cinnamon....baking in the oven as I type.

Sunday breakfast in the new house.

He is simply showing his dominance, pretty typical of his breed. Firm but calm is the key.

I would think that staying with his usually timing of walking routine might help. His feeding/ pooping routine on leash should continue, in spite of the move to a new place.

I must say...that face is one you gotta love! LOL! Evelyn.

We've had a busy day....SIL off, so some heavy lifting going on.

I have done some touch up painting, and we've gotten some pre-cooking done for their busy week ahead, when I will be gone.

I remember the working routine, hectic weekends trying to get everything done, but I have been detached from that a long time.

Funny, I don't miss it.

Temps dropped almost 30 degrees from yesterday, but still moderate as winters go.

Can't complain, my big fear was serious cold and what to do with the Interstate.

Buddha smiles.
