Maggie,
We are so happy for you that this turned out so well. It did so at least partially because you worked through all the issues to make it happen. It was karma that the new one surfaced when you needed it and that Hittenstiel was there to check it out for you.
So glad there were no serious injuries, and now an upgrade to boot. I know there is an emotional attachment to your previous Interstate that the new one cannot replace, but hopefully the new Interstate will be the source of many happy memories with friends and the grands.
And as you well know, until there are pictures, it didn't happen. We are looking forward to inspecting it at some point in the future. Until then - safe travels!

Maggie, I am so excited for you!! (And for the rest of us.). I have to admit, so happy for the rest of us in that we will all have so many more of your adventures and life experiences to enjoy with you! I was feeling so down that this may not have been a possibility. (Also, I’m trying to proof my posts a little more thoroughly to make certain my phone doesn’t make write-correct changes to my posts as happened in my post a week or so ago.)
Have fun and safe travels!

Thanks, everyone.
Spent last night with Hittenstiehl and her husband, as the Interstate was not cooling down and I feared I would suffocate.
Had an very enjoyable visit and dinner with them, then a scrumptious breakfast this morning, on the road about 8am.
Drove to Albuquerque, in a PA campground I think we have stayed in before, and the rig performed well.
Now that I am on I40, I will make better time, still expect three days travel will get me to my driveway.
My first night in it tonight...
Maggie

Drove from Albuquerque to Oklahoma City today, and seem to have about 600 miles yet to home.
Driving I40 is fairly stress free, but I get off it in the morning and onto 44 strict thru to St. Louis....it will hopefully be a straight shot, tho a long day.
If it gets too hard, I’ll just stop for one more night.
I went to shower at my campground last night, and discovered the microfiber towel I purchased for trip home showers had been left at home.
I had to shower, but could skip a shampoo, so I grabbed a wad of paper towels to dry off with and managed just fine.
Stopped at WalMart this morning for a new hand vac...I sent the one from the other rig home with my daughter, who has hardwood floors and two shedding dogs, and needed it more than me....also a couple of bath towels in a creamy ivory color.
This interior is lighter colors, the old ones will simply not do.

About 10 hours on the road today, and we are home.
That is the new Interstate in the driveway of the little house, and something cold and bubbly in my beautiful goblet...because, I deserve it.
A totally uneventful trip...no bumps, scratches, mechanical issues nor speeding tickets, no untoward events of any kind.
I love the new rig, which is performing beautifully, and can’t wait to get my things stored in the back bedroom into there...but, that will wait til tomorrow.
When I was going thru the few things left behind by the previous owner, I found in a drawer an oft-used dishtowel with roses on it, also the same rose pattern on a small organizer tray in the same drawer.
I will keep those...a kindred spirit left them for me.

Have you taken Lily for a tour of her new RV? Is She wagging uncontrollably or just smiling quietly and waiting for you to start loading her stuff inside?

I have, along with the grands, my son and his wife, and my niece who was there when I went by.
She wasn’t sure what was going on, but we came home in it...it didn’t smell like her travlin’ van, but her Mama was tellin’ her we’re going to bye-bye in it, so as long as she gets to go with she can adapt.
She got out of the car at the airport with me when my son dropped me off Thursday, done so she thought with being left behind and prancing along as if it was a new adventure.
Poor baby, she is glad to be home with her Mama, and will watch closely the prep to leave on our summer adventure...coming soon.

Tried to update my photo and unit description, and there is no 2007 22’ Interstate to choose from, nor will a new photo upload.

Glad you made it home and continue to enjoy the new Interstate. I had the same issue not being able to put in a 2007 Interstate, so went with the 2006. Not sure who to contact to see if they can add the 2007 to the list.
Looking forward to the continuing journeys.

The colors are soft and neutral, and the new throw I made over the winter could have been made with this interior in mind.

So happy to hear that your new Interstate is in nearly perfect condition and yet with some improvements and a few less miles then your old one. I am thinking that Doug may have had a hand in this whole scenario starting with the accident that totaled your Interstate while you fortunately received only minor injuries.
I am looking forward to hearing about more travels with you and Lily.

Thank you, Dan, and maybe we can arrange a meet up when I am in the SE next winter.
I have a distant cousin near Colonial Beach who I am hoping to spend one time with...

Thanks, folks.
There is a phenomenal amount of stuff that came out of the old Interstate which now is needing to find space in the new one.
Storage configuration is different, I am figuring it out as I go.
I pulled up the carpet in the cab area yesterday, ran it thru the washing machine and dried it outside before returning it to place....voila!, no lingering “old dust” odor, and smelling “nice” when you step inside.
Ultraleather was spotless but is now wiped down with leather conditioner/cleaner, and all of the cabinets...also spotless...were wiped out with pinesol in water.
It’s just what one does with a new place...at least it’s what this one does.
I had help to get some heavy things out there yesterday, and am hoping to finish most of the unpacking today.
A job, but I again have wheels...and I am grateful.
Maggie
