It was 19 degrees at home this morning, but I finished loading in the dark, cleaned up the house and was on the road about 8.

We are settled into a campground in Paducah, and I am mostly straightened up and put away in here....it will take another couple of days to get it the way I want it.

Lily has had a good romp around the lake here, so she is a happy girl. The first thing she always wants, as soon as we pull into a new place, is to go for a walk....so many new things to smell.

I watched a great movie on my new Smart TV last night...The Imitation Game.

Excellent, and based on a true story.

I am loving my new space heater...even when the blower cuts off, the red glow/flame continues.

Nice.

All is well.

Yes, Kentucky.

About 5-6 hours from home, and far enough for the first day. It is always something of an endurance test, getting out the door.

I remind myself I am exceedingly fortunate to be able to go and do.

Lily and I were both quite exhausted last night. She wagged her tail with absolute delight when I put the bed out, hopped up and settled in. Booger dog.

I am down to just some fine-tuning of putting away and straightening things up, so it is starting to look livable in here.

Serious storms are moving thru the south, so am going to find a spot north of them for tonight where I can dewinterize, clean, and finish up, and then will feel reasonably presentable and ready to move on.

Going to get to have a visit with some friends from Alumalina on my way to the coast tomorrow, which will be great.

Onward and southward.

Hi Maggie, glad first leg of trip went well. Travel on safely. I like the look of that space heater. What brand is it?

We were on the road before 8am this morning, after Lily had a run around the lake, foggy and raining, driving thru nonetheless lovely rolling hills and on into Tennessee.

Thru Nashville....rather than around, as I thought the voice on my PocketEarth navigation system was confused, ignored it, and stayed on 65 ....past the Civil War battlefield at Franklin, where my cousin George was killed, buried on the battlefield by faithful slave Kemp...who had accompanied him to war, as many slaves did...who then walked and hitched rides home to southern Mississippi, to fetch George's father and Uncle Jim...my 2nd great grandfather....then led them back to the battlefield and the marked grave, they retrieved the body to take home and bury in the cemetery behind the family home.

Settled into a full hookup, PA campsite in Georgia...for the bargain price of $15...where I have dewinterized, and am now sanitizing my fresh water system.

I didn't do it efficiently, forgetting to put the plug back in the hot water tank so my first water drained out onto the ground, until I figured out why I had no water pressure...but, I did get it done, have done a little cleaning and am fixin' to take Lily for a walk.

Going to try to find a new coach battery on my way to Montgomery tomorrow, where I will spend the night and have a good visit with sweet Al & Patti...if you know them, you love them.

Left home at 19 degrees yesterday morning, it is about 60 degrees here, I have everything opened up and the vent fan running.

A PuraFlame space heater, Evelyn...I love it.

You're making good progress, great. Puraflame...I will try to remember that for when I break Goliath out.

Terrible night last night, worse morning. Deb insisted we call my M.D., who said, "come in now!" Deb drove me, using rolling walker to assist, as my legs were not holding me up too well. He said, "Yes, Evelyn, you do have pneumonia", confirmed it with chest X-ray, ordered a stronger regimen of antibiotic, prednisone pack, and other stuff. So,I'm home now, medicated, hoping it all works, as he said if it doesn't, hospital is next. I hope to avoid that!

Hope you feel better soon, Evelyn.

Got a new coach battery installed in Montgomery, Simmons Batteries had what I needed and got me right in.

Not an Interstate, but an AGM...everything is up and running again.

Have had a nice visit and delicious meal with Al & Patti, ready to tuck in for the night here very shortly.

All is well, I am just tired. Lily is already down for the count.

Thanks, Maggie and Gail. Working on it.

Maggie, Airstream warranty rep told me that AGMs are a more reliable. They seem to be working well for Goliath. Great that they were able to take care of you right away. Keep on with your travels, safely. I truly enjoy following your travels...sort of helps keep me targeted on my future trips. Evelyn.

After a lovely visit with Al & Patti, and two delicious home cooked meals...it was nice to be fed and watered ...we set out for Topsail this morning and got settled in here a couple of hours ago.

Tanks have been emptied and fresh water is full...by the time that has run through and out I will be able to drink the water from my tap, cook with it, make coffee, etc.

Whew. It's all easy street from here on out.

Have had a good walk with Miss Lily, and met some of the pre-rally gatherers.

Am going to have a glass of something in a bit, and revel in the fact that I will not be driving tomorrow.
