Maggie... I meant to ask: where's this car wash? It must be near me somewhere and I haven't found one yet! THANKS!

I don't remember, now....it's been too long, and is not marked on my map.

The elderly gentleman I have talked about here, whose dementia deteriorated so quickly after a fairly minor surgery...tho one that required general anesthesia...in March, died overnight.

The last couple of weeks have seen a serious decline, and he is gone.

My friend in Ontario I visited recently is a nurse, and she said what a number of others have...that the general anesthesia may have exacerbated issues already present, a common event.

This entire experience has been very informative, in lots of ways.

Off to the Catskills.

We are here, but no signal of any kind once you get off 28, so had to drive in to the cute little town of Phoenicia this morning, as two days was long enough.

After a couple of errands Monday morning, we headed out to the Catskills via New Paltz…a kind of funky old town I wanted to see, and would have loved to poke around in, but, another time.

Saw a decked out Roadtrek there, with lots of stickers and “Home on the Road” emblazoned across the back….fellow wanderers, I felt sure, and we exchanged a wave.

I found a Camping World just off 28W, and picked up a replacement Pop a Tissue dispenser…not to be found just anywhere…and also this coaster, which I of course did not need, but couldn't pass up.

I would like to put it on my wall, but it is kind of a foam and I can't figure out a way to keep it there…I've tried.

We are settled until tomorrow into New York's beautiful Woodland Valley State Park, in a site overlooking and backed up to the rushing creek that runs thru the campground.

Quiet, clean, heavily wooded campground, staff present in the office at all times, and almost empty these weekdays. No amenities other than toilets and a bathhouse with hot showers. Lovely.

A first at check in…staff wrote Lily's description, name, my name and phone # onto a tag, so that if she ran off and was found, they could return her to her owner. Not my Lily.

The usual bear instructions included one I had not seen before…”Do not keep food in coolers in your tent, and do not wear anything to bed that you had on during meals.”

We are walking, biking the paved inner road, reading, crocheting and Lily has caught up on her beauty sleep….visiting, especially visiting other dogs, is exhausting for her.

Not content just to relax, of course, I cleaned and organized the area above my microwave yesterday, the “kitchen drawer” of my Interstate…you know, the place where you keep all manner of small and odd things you might need at a moments notice….batteries, fuses, tape, sewing kit, scissors, post-it-notes, matches, etc. Stuff that one needs when living on the road for several months at a time. Stuff. Now, organized and tidy.

Very beautiful and peaceful...

Hey there, I was wondering where you two were in your Westward Ho adventure!

Have a great time, and travel safe.

Hmmm...I'll keep looking.

I've tried several things, but nothing wants to stick to the foam of the coaster.

Back in civilization, and DD is off these next two days so we will be...doing things.

Borrowed DD's upright vacuum this morning, and used the attachments to vacuum areas I cannot reach with my little hand-held, rechargeable. Yikes.

Sooooo.....much.....dog.....hair......

Also, a little sand, dust, and other nefarious, unidentifiable remnants of wherever we have been since I did this last....ummm, last year sometime.

Tho I can't so much see the difference, removing the loose dog hair in hidden spaces immediately improves the air quality inside the Interstate.

We took the dogs to a forest area near here this morning, walked them up the road by a creek and turned them loose....boy, did they have a blast.

Lenny sticks like glue to Lily, allowing him to be off leash where otherwise that could not happen...they played in the creek, raced up and down the road, in and out of the water, up and down the banks, having a great time.

Sweet to watch, and now they are both pooped.

Lenny is now 49 lbs, at 6 months old....I am predicting he will top 100 as an adult dog.

That is such a nice outcome between Lily and Lenny. Yeah for doggie buddies.

It is a nice outcome, and I have to believe it is in good part a product of their introduction and early moments together....per Bud's suggestions.

Lily is still Lily , but she has clearly accepted Lenny, they are cohabitating nicely, and playing together on a regular basis.

Can't ask for better than that.

I must admit that my pups, especially the two Maltese mix street-runner brothers, do not get along perfectly all the time. Lily is way beyond being good...Click image for larger version

Did some running yesterday, TJ's in Connecticut, and took the dogs to a local dog park.

SIL's mother is here, as well, so we are a houseful.

The dogs are doing great, playing and running together....the only problem is that Lily keeps stealing dog food that is not hers.

Lenny is a mischievous little booger...found a piece of loose hem in these curtains yesterday, and wrapped himself up in it....I had to take a picture before DD extricated him

I saw something about dogs on this thread, so had to chime in. On the screen door of my trailer, this sign is seen:

ATTENTION GUEST

DOGS ARE WELCOME IN THIS MOTEL.
WE NEVER HAD A DOG THAT SMOKED IN
BED AND SET FIRE TO THE BLANKETS.
WE NEVER HAD A DOG THAT STOLE OUR
TOWELS, PLAYED THE TELEVISION TOO
LOUD, OR HAD A NOISY FIGHT WITH HIS
TRAVELING COMPANION.
WE NEVER HAD A DOG THAT GOT DRUNK
AND BROKE UP THE FURNITURE.
SO, IF YOUR DOG CAN VOUCH FOR YOU,
YOU’RE WELCOME TOO.

That's a good one, Tommie.

DD bought herself a basic Singer sewing machine yesterday and a piece of beautiful fabric, and...with her MIL's help...made a pillow cover.

Beautiful, inexpensive, and turned out by her own hand.

She has really become quite the little homemaker, as well as spouse, full time member of the professional workforce and co-parent to two dogs and a cat.

I'm proud of her.

Helping her with her beds around the house this morning, I grabbed a chunk of something and pulled up a bees nest...

Half a dozen stings before I could shake them off...good thing I'm not allergic.
