That one I linked to works well and won't break the bank..... More money for wine!

Wine ? .. zilch since Christmas .. stared at inside cottage walls for weeks .. Like a twerp .. on medication .. slightly nervy about side effects ..
so .. halved the gobbling .. quadrupled the pain and curtailed cachinnations ..
.. Jelly in and out of Hospital .. op went smoothly .. Hans jnr been in a state with Gastro-enteritis .. not so wobbly on his pins now .. he works in London Embassies and was okish for his next consignment .. Joys of self employed .. what else .. oh ye .. the sun is shining ..
so thats nice after pelting down with rain for weeks ..
Hans flew his plane which is now snuggled in the tallest tree this side of Cambridge .. so.. i stood and gawped whilst he fired a wire 13 times from a home made catapult to dislodged it .. or was it 12 .. dunno .. i got bored .. anyway its still up there ..
Im very pleased with recently discovered Pullman American Bread Tins ..
simple and effective .. may be cheapish in the States but costly in England ...
ordered 4 .. along with silicone innards .. thats sounds like someones insides ..
i mean liners ... be back soon to catch up .. x 1.

Hi Lili!
Great to hear from you!
Sorry to hear of surgery, illness, and tree-lodged planes, but you sound to be your usual perky self.
Gail and I are meeting this summer, didja know?
Looking forward to it, then we are having a (mostly) women's gathering in Astoria, OR. Wish you could join us.
Take care, and don't be a stranger here.

Hi Maggie .. we've all had a bumpy ride past couple months and not over the hill but thats life .. as we so boringly spout ..
Astoria and Gails home is everything ending in eff ew ell .. wonderful .. beautiful and delightful ..... Heaven as one would imagine ..
I loved everything about Astoria ..
apart from that freaking drop on the approach that made me freak ..
Mostly women .... funny ....
you should invite half man half biscuit to up the interest ..
As weve lost couple months with nonsense .. Hans has set clearing-out deadlines ..
my wheeze of shoving bits and bobz from one place to another doesn't wash with him now .. he's on the war path ..
Ive piled various on friends to shed all manner of niknaks to make room
for the cottage extension .. .. but some things I just dont know what to do with .. pick em up .. stare .. put em down again .. too sentimental to give away..
not interesting enough to keep .. Hans would just throw everything out ..
he never looks back .. he puts most out of his mind ..
apart from losing Muffin the 1st. .. he cries a lot about Muffin ..
We both do ..
I must make London in May .. Italian Friend is landing .. daughter works in the city .. he's constantly pestering us to fly to Venice .. photographer by trade ..
teasing us with his work of the recent Carnival ..
The Colours are magnificent .. Vivid Reds and Blues and Greens ..
I should encourage Hans Jnr to go ..
Whilst doing not much ive been staring at Netflix .. USA Police Men on Patrol ..
my Giddy Aunt .. they deserve medals as big as frying pans dealing with armed dangerous idiots .. Worlds full of em ..
... oh well .. time to go do don't know what .. oh ye .. feed Muffin .. xx

Agree mass shootings are literally "encouraged" by pictures and notoriety of 24 hour news stations. In part a result of 1980's closures of mental facilities en-mass. One near us housed over 500 mentally and criminally insane individuals - torn down within the pat two years, closed since 1987 and never replaced.
Nova Scotia is nice, New Brunswick is ok, Prince Edward Island is nicer than either and we personally like Maine the best. We drove up the Maine coast with our first 30' and stopped at what seemed like every Lobster Shack on the way and ate Lobster Rolls.
If you like a sweet Riesling I have some suggestions, it's my wife's favorite.

I don't like too sweet a wine, but go ahead and give suggestions.
Storms and tornadoes across the south last night, and rain here woke us up.
A mobile home park in Louisiana looks to have taken a direct hit.
More severe storms are expected later today, and schools are actually closed in anticipation of them. Yikes.

Thanks for the corkscrew recommendation, PaulnGina.
I clamped that bottle between my knees and pulled as hard as I could to get that cork out, still took me several minutes... I'll hopefully get better with it over time.

Send me an address...
I find that I still have my mom's corkscrew, and I quit drinking around 50 years ago when I fell in love with and then married a teetotaler. It's yours if you will PM me an address where you can receive a package. (Street address please, no P.O. Box.)
I'm preparing to move and I need to lighten the load before I do so. I'd like you to have this, if you want it.

That is so sweet, Mimi!
You could set it aside to bring when we meet in July, I will also send you my home address and you can send it there for if you must.
My son is by the house a couple of times a week, checking things and setting mail in.
Thank you!
Maggie

These three are not very sweet, more fruity than sweet. Mild with a soft feel, very smooth.
Washington Hills Vineyards Riesling
Hyatt Vineyards Riesling
Zeller Schwarze Katz Riesling
Enjoy

Thanks, Bud, I will make a note of those.
Lily has had a good walk, rain to begin soon....
The humidity is so thick here that uou can see it, so I have done what any sane, humidity intolerant person would do....closed everything up tight, and turned the AC on low.
After shaking the dog hair off my comforter outside....and spraying it with the Febreze I bought at Edisto last year.
Dog + humidity =

Maggie.. I forgot to mention.. baking soda and/or activated charcoal rubbed in will be helpful... in addition to baby/talc powder (careful to not inhale as much as possible..)
the activated Charcoal is sold in pet stores, it is the stuff used in aquariums.. I buy it by the 1/2 gallon size milk carton.. Then, run it thru a coffee bean grinder to crush up... mix 1/2 and 1/2 with baking soda...brush in... not as harmful to breathe.....

Thanks, Channing.
I did hang the comforter outside in the steady breeze for quite awhile after spraying it yesterday, which dried the spray and helped rid it of dog hair, sand and odor.
Sand blows into her coat, then sifts out wherever she lays. I brush her and keep my little hand vac charged to clean up after her all day, but it never ends.
Life at the beach, with dogs.
My biggest cleaning challenge, traveling and at home, but she gives so much in love, affection and companionship that there's almost nothing I wouldn't do for her.
Lily wakes up in the mornings, touch-deprived from the night, and curls up next to...and draped over...me while I drink my coffee. My right hand manages my coffee mug and the iPad, the left one is on her, stoking her up.
Tornadoes, severe hail, boats run aground, etc., but it missed us here but for some rain and wind.
We got to the beach twice yesterday, anyway.....it's why we're here.
Maggie

Blackie likes the same routine. She's under my desk right now, wondering why I stop petting her so I can type. She'll get more and more insistent as time for her breakfast approaches.
