Lily and I have a little car that talks to us ......says it is trying to connect to our phone, and needs questions answered....what??!!.

Lily looked at me like....what the h--l? Too funny.

I have an 11 year old Matrix at home, so none of those bells and whistles....I felt like I was in a space ship.

We ran some errands and drove around a bit today.....found a Batteries Plus and got the batteries in the tiny clocks I have in here replaced....for the first time, both of them going out in the past few months, and they have been up for years.

What a beautiful city, and it is going to be great to be out and about with such ease.

52 and sunny tomorrow....today, it is chilly and overcast, and I am doing what any good Yankee cook would do on a day like this.....I am making a pot of chicken noodle soup.

Dinner in a bowl.

Maggie,

If it's a rental car, it's not a good idea to connect your phone to it unless you are absolutely sure what it is looking at on your phone.

It my pick up and save more data than you will want to share with the next driver of the car....

I'm a 'paid computer security paranoid' in another life,....

Many vehicle cellphone connections download your contacts and phone numbers. While it does not display the "other"information, I think all of it comes over for each contact. Multiple phone numbers for a contact will display in my 2007 Mercedes ML320 CDI which has an early interface. My wife's 2009 pulls the address and will input it to the map system.

My ML has to reload the contacts every time the phone connects after the engine is started, so there is no apparent carry over of the information.

I won't....I don't even know how to do it. I told it "no", and it listened.

I just got my first hands free device for Christmas, but haven't even used it yet for a phone call.

Bells and whistles are not my thing, I like the simple life....with an Interstate, of course.

A Different Life II

True. Bells and whistles nowadays directly equate to invasion of privacy.

Minimizing personal data out in the world is a good idea. Failing that, my policy is to obfuscate any data, or flat out put false data out there....

Keeps them from pretending to be me😄

I think if we all knew the actual level of privacy violation occurring to private individuals on a daily basis in this country, some would be horrified......others would not be surprised. If they can, they will.

Lily and I went to Beachwalker Park on Kiawah Island today, where dogs may run off leash in the off-season, til March 15.

Lily saw the beach and was absolutely beside herself with excitement.....had a great time, and ran herself to exhaustion.

A lovely beach, tho much different from Edisto-my-favorite.....this one very firm underfoot, and practically no seashells.

Anywhere so welcoming of dogs, however, will be visited again.

Pan bread with PB and a bit of raspberry jam....it's what's for breakfast.

This is the last of the batch of artisan bread dough that I mixed 10-11 days ago, and put into the frig. It has kept beautifully, and, divided into 5 portions of dough, each makes one piece the equivalent of two nice slices of fresh, whole grain bread.

I do these in the small, cast iron panini pan I bough last year, and pat it flat into the bottom of the slightly warmed pan, where I have melted a bit of butter. Turn it over to coat and warm both sides a bit, cover and let rise 30 minutes or so, and bake.....voila!...fresh bread for one.

Heading into Charleston proper today, may visit the Confederate Museum, going to stroll the streets with Miss Lily....and perhaps see if she is remotely interested in the dog park.

All dogs must be herded away from me, is her game plan with dog parks these days, so they are pointless for her in terms of exercise.

We'll see.

It's going to be a beautiful, sunny day here.....great for walking around this beautiful and historic city.

Maggie, you make me hungry! I'm currently on a liquid diet now, in preparation for tests this week......and your PB&J looks good, and I rarely eat that!
I agree with F@N....carpe diem! God bless. Evelyn.

My theory is that the Millenials have been so coddled that some day a passing cloud will generate similar reactions.
For several years now we have been getting our amusement from the coverage of hurricanes on Central Florida television stations. A couple of notable quotes:

"Some people are leaving in droves", and as the talking face stood on the beach in Jetty Park, Cape Canaveral where children were playing in the water with 2" waves lapping the sand he said "...with the waves crashing ashore...."

The first has become our favorite, and we use it to designate hype of any kind on the news.

You got me drooling over the keyboard Maggie. I too am on a liquid diet ramping up for stomach bypass surgery on Wed. Right now I could inhale that bread in 1 bite.
