27 FB International - Siren Song!

So, anyone out there have a 27 FB International they want to trade?

Sharon (GT1963) just bought my 22 CCD, so I am down to one Airstream. She's still in shock that turning on the water heater involves flipping a switch by the bathroom instead of going outside with a lighter. Ditto for switching the fridge to propane. Oh and air conditioning - what a concept! (An especially nice feature when you change ownership on a muggy 92 degree fahrenheit day.) One thing she didn't realize was how much deeper and more efficient the CCD cabinets are - not three little cabinets with dividing walls - but one long one.

I'm appreciating her appreciation of the International features and wishing I had them - even though I've been very happy with my Safari FB SE.

Many of you know that I've always liked the CCD interior - especially the upper cabinets and the lobster bowl sink. I also like the bigger closet in the 27 FB, and the slide out microwave.

So I'm on the hunt for a 27 FB. I just don't think I can stand buying another one brand new, but if anyone sees one for sale that's been gently used by non-smokers, please let me know. I'll even take a smoking one if the price is right. After all, a new mattress and wiping down the interior should get the funk out.

Paula

I understand the love...

Nope... can't have mine. I refuse to part with it (Ocean Breeze design). I love it so much... sorry!

Good luck on your search. Keep us posted on your progress.
Hugs!

Don't know if this will fit the bill but there is a 28' Int'l with BlueStreak interior available on eBay.

Really don't think I want the Ocean Breeze - looks nice but think it wouldn't be easy to live with long term. Prefer plain old brown (or older black) laminate. Don't like any of the upholsteries that much. I'll probably redo the couches. I've seen some 2009 23' with a blue upholstery that looks really pretty.

Paula,

Have you seen this one in the Air Classifieds?

"2007 Safari 28' SE 75th Anniversary Edition"

I'm a vintage guy, but it sure had me do a double take on the thought of buying a newer unit.

CCD/International

Looking for the CCD International design, not the Safari FB SE. Got one of those in the 25' model already. Too much sameo-sameo.

Appreciate your thoughtfulness though.

I know it's not a 27 but...

Roger Williams in Weatherford TX has a 2007 25 FB CCD that they are trying to get rid of...

As well as a 2007 27 FB classic and a 2007 25 CCD Ocean Breeze...

You can't have ours, but I admire your discriminating taste!

You might check out Bates RV. I was down there a week or two ago, and they had a BOATLOAD of Airstreams. I suspect they may have made some opportunistic purchases from economically distressed dealers. Or whatever. None the less...

Really want

Really want a DEAL this time. USED.

Bought last two new, just can't keep up that bad habit.

Keep looking for me, sooner or later some fool will want to trade up to a 34 slideout of minimize and get a 16 or 19. Then I'll be ready to swoop in.

Paula,
I can think of plenty more bad habits that are worse then buying a new Airstream every once in a while.

This one is a "new" leftover up in Danville, PA that has been sitting on the lot for a long time and the price keeps dropping. They stopped selling Airstream, becasue they couldn't compete with Colonial. They may be motivated to sell.

I am waiting for this one to come down some more so I won't have to sell the house, wife and the dog so I can afford it

I've got the Safari FB SE 25' with the midnight sun interior right now. If you're not stuck on the SS or the Ocean Breeze interior, talk to me.... I can sell you mine, then I can get the 27 CCD. One thing about the SS design I'm not fond of is the bed location. TIGHT squeeze into the bathroom! And if you're jumping up at 3:00 AM after having a few adult beverages OMG!

Lead a Snot Into Temptation - Part 3

Colonial Airstream reads this forum. They know how to tempt a woman! Oh CRAP! What a lovely temptation. Nice 2008 CCD.
