I am shopping for a NEW 27FB International Signature, and was not sure I was making the right choice, can you tell me why you love this layout so much?

Thanks

OK, I just sold a 22 CCD and I have the 25 FB SE Safari.

One, I just like the international style, spare and modern.

Two, I have two small traditional sinks in the 25, and had the big single lobster bowl sink in the 22. The lobster bowl is deep enough that it doesn't splash everywhere every time you wash a coffee cup, and you can actually get a skillet or a big pot INTO the sink.

Three - the big pantry

Four - the slide out microwave IN the big pantry. I like a conventional oven and a microwave for small stuff like popcorn or heating up a cup of water for tea.

Five - the closet space. The 27 FB has double the 25 FB. My 22 actually had a better closet. The 28 also has a very small closet. As a woman hanging space is important.

Six - the fore and aft queen. I actually make the bed almost every day and it's a PIA with the side to side queen.

I like the seating capacity and the dinette does make a first class lounge if you want to put it down.

Paula

Hey Paula
When we were debating on whether or not to trade our hardly used but damaged 07 for a new 08 27' CCD I think you said something like....Just do it!

Thanks for the reminder. I guess I'll call Colonial on Monday.

Hey there, Don't know if you're still looking...
But there is a 2007 in San Diego, CA (Might be geographically undisireable) at Revolution RV.
Here's the sticker: http://revolution.airstream.com/inde...er&unit=521281

Here's another link: 2007 Travel Trailer Airstream 25 FB INT

I'd bet they'd deal with it to move off the lot.

Happy Hunting!

Waiting Patiently

I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go....

I've decided I don't want to be in debt OR own two trailers at the same time again. So I'll wait until either
  • I have the money to buy cash
  • the right gently used one comes up
I cleaned out my closet. The Starvation Army thanks me.

That's a good idea. You will save a bundle. Your 25' is soooo nice. Can you get a shed (aka portable garment rack)

Still Like my 25 FB SE

Cheep mods in the Safari 25 FB

Found an 8" long door/drawer pull that matches the ones in the FB SE. Took the end panel off of the bedroom overhead cabinet and installed the drawer pull on the underside of the cabinet, where it functions as an auxiliary hanging bar - only IRONED clothing goes there, up to three outfits max. I use it when I travel for business and need to be ready to do a five minute change from camping to "meeting clothes".

I got an e-mail from wavebox.com - they finally have their portable microwave on the market for $199! AWK! It runs on AC/12 volt, or can be clamped directly to a car battery. What I really liked about it was it's very small size and the fact that it had a carrying handle. I did find one very small one at Walmart. Think I'll make a lifting/carrying strap out of nylon web and save about $150.

Yesterday I was AGAIN fighting to get my vacuum out from under the dinette. There is a LOT of wasted space under there and it's hard to get things in and out. I saw one other owner who removed the door from the roadside bench and replaced it with a fabric curtain. I've decided to do the same. I'll remove the door, and its hinge mounting strip. I'll salvage the fabric, back it with canvas and some nylon strapping and turn it into a curtain that opens at the bottom. A few hooks screwed into the floor and some grommets on the inside of the curtain will secure whatever is inside while I'm traveling. I should be able to leave my vacuum plugged in under the table and just pull it out and use it whenever I want. I'll use totes for everything else I store on that side.

On the streetside they've got a file drawer. NICE but it wastes 2/3 of the potential storage space under that side. I don't want much heavy stuff that far in the back but I think I can fit my Weber Baby Q, a plastic file case, and a milk carton modified as a small wine celler under the roadside bench. The flamingoes and airstream lights, etc can go there too. Most important is my little broom and dustpan - to catch the big messes at the door.

BTW - I'm pretty sure I'll get twins when I pull the trigger on a 27 CCD FB. Easy to make beds, easier access to storage under beds, I can use the aisle to set up my sewing machine and keep all of the necessary stuff on the opposite bed as I sew sitting on the other twin.

Some of us love Airstreams for what they are, some for what they can BE.

A lot more public than you think!

Egad, I just googled 27 CCD FB SE and guess what popped up in about 7th place? THIS THREAD.

Talk about your life being an open book.

Don't know whether I should just publish a book and become famous, or just keep posting. Of course I might make some money publishing a book... the only thing I'm missing is talent.
