Hello,
We bought our
1963 Bambi on ebay and had a great experience. However, I watched for months and studied and learned all I could about values, etc. Had a sort of max price in mind and tried not to get too emotional about it all.. (lol) Anyway, we asked loads of questions, sent many messages back and forth to the seller, they provided us with many, many pictures. We opted to "go for it" as we only had to put a small amount of money down via paypal and pay the remainder upon picking up the trailer. So, we figured if it wasn't legit we would only be out our travel to get it and the "down" payment. We were willing to "risk" our down and travel...
The folks we delt with were great. Very straightforward as to condition, etc. There weren't any surprises. They even put on new tires, checked the brakes and greased the wheels and all so we wouldn't have trouble bringing her home!
Maybe we were lucky, but all in all I have purchased quite a few different items from ebay and only once was somewhat disappointed
~ and that was on a $3 item...
I would try, however, to find a airstream that isn't halfway across the country... see what you can find in your general area even on ebay!
Good luck, and keep looking ~ you will find the perfect trailer!
