Unhappy 20' "Airstream"

Last summer when i was looking for an Airstream I took the ferry to Vancouver Island to see an Airstream advertised in the paper.

That's just plain sad. How someone could take an older, vintage unit and try to repair it with rippled and painted crap is beyond me. What a shame someone on this forum didn't get to it first. Now and forever - its a hybrid.

Still Repairable

I don't think it's to far gone to be repaired, it'll just have some battle scars!

I can't help but think....

IMHO..
This is not even an Airstream~!
Check the windows..the door, and the end caps..
Since when did Airstream ever paint their name like that~!?
My personal take is that it's a clever bogus~created by some scam artist~

I doubt it's a "scam"...

But I don't think it's an Airstream at all...probably an Avion, Silver Streak or Silver Stream.

Oftentimes, people who don't have a clue, call any roundish aluminum trailer an Airstream. This would explain the difference in the number of end cap panels and the door shape.

There's no GOOD explaination for the "colorful additions"!

I think it's an Avion, but it's still sad! Modern windows, and corrugated aluminum - yuk! Then there's the strange 'airstream' logos all over it. Weird. Never know what those Canadians will do next! (just kidding - really!)

You're right Steph, I think its an Avion too but that doesn't justify the desecration. Oh the humanity....

Greg, I can just imagine the newspaper ad that you responded to:

"Vintage Airstream in great condition. Many recent upgrades including new door, stoneguard, wheels, propane tanks, and logo paint. No leaks. Ready to go camping!"

See how deceptive advertising can be?
