My Classic 345 turns the windshield wipers on and off from time to time. I have heard of other GM products doing this, like my son's Astro van. Anyone know what to do about it?
The system is based on grounds and that the motor will have 12 volts on one terminal or another to make it do what you want. It may be a bad switch, I know mine are poor to say the least.

I vaguely remember a problem with the late 80's and early 90's wiper motors. Seems it was a bad printed circuit board which may have been made worse by water intrusion. I had a 93 Suburban and a late 80's Astro that had the problem. Not sure if an A/S mh uses the same components though? Been driving my Ford PSD for so long I have forgotten most of my GM knowledge.
Asuming it's a GM intermitant wiper set up.......Hehe they do it. Our 79 Blazer does it when you pop the parking brake, slam the door, hit a pot hole. Some times it will go a week and not do it and sometimes it will do it 10 times in one day. It's usualy a problem with the Intermitant wiper control modual that should be under the dash very close to the colum. They did not have very long harness on them.
