What kind of antenna do you have? Some need a metal ground plane, others do not. Antenna type determines whether you can install the antenna on fiberglass, or whether it needs to be mounted on something metal. Please, provide details on brand, model, etc.

The previous owner installed the antenna on the passenger window. I'll be home in a couple of weeks and send a picture.

Note: "trucker" antennas can be mounted on the mirror arms, ladders and other metal parts. If you want to mount on fiberglass, look for a marine "dipole" antenna, which does not need a ground plane. Radioshack used to carry marine antennas; otherwise, check marine stores, like West Marine (Boat Parts, Boat Accessories, Sailing Gear and Boating Apparel from West Marine).

ID:	205889 There's mine. It's on the street side in the front. The previous owner had installed the CB radio. The CB is mounted right before the dashboard below the drivers side window.

WBCCI swears by them (at them? on them?) for keeping caravaners in touch with each other. With a CB, you're broadcasting to all in range, and you don't need to try to set up an umpteen-way conference call on a cell phone while the vehicle is in motion to people whose numbers aren't in your speed dial.
