I have a 1999 Cutter. The Vacuum pump that operates the A/C heater doors has stopped working. A replacement for the original is $255.00 Questions: #1 Is there a cheeper replacement? #2 Can it be re-built and and if yes, who re-builds it?
John's right about searching junk yards. Many GM cars of the late 80's through the mid 90's,used a vacuum pump for accessories such as yours (high emmision standards, equated low vacuum at idle on these cars). Take a look at any models similar to Pontiac or Chevy J cars, Chevy Celebrity,Pontiac 6000 etc, there vacuum pumps are generally located in the front left fender well, mounted on the underside.Happy hunting
I've also been told that the Buick Grand National used a vacuum pump but they are a rare car indeed. I had the Delco part # for this pump and can't find it. Sorry.
