Trip Meter Reset Help Needed

My 2001 XC360 is on the Freightliner chassis, afrer some research I discovered how to change the odomerer and tripmeter berween KM and Miles. I however cannot reset the tripmeter. I hold it down and all it does is rotates between km and miles. Thought about popping the swirch out to see how it is wired but fear ut will break. I cannot see the switch but feels like there are only 2 wires. Any ideas

I have a 2001 XC and the trip switch for trip miles is the same as km/miles, just hold it down until it zeros. Try that.
