sticking brake pedal on 30 Landyacht

Have had it in 2 times and no one can find the issue but brake pedal sticks so each time it is applied, have to pull it back up with foot or the rear brake lights stay on! Have almost been hit 3 times because I did not know it was sticking on.

anyone else have this happen? suggestions on how to fix it?

thanks

Sounds like either the brake light switch is not adjusted right or the brake return spring is weak. It could be a brake linkage or hydro-boost issue as well but less likely. Hard to believe that no one can find the source of the problem.

should have explained more. but the pedal itself does not come all the way up. I have to stick my foot under it to pull it all the way up then the light goes out. thanks for helping out.

As I said, it could be a return spring issue or a hydro-boost problem. How much (travel distance) do you have to pull up on the brake pedal? Do the brakes drag when the pedal is low?

I do not believe the brakes drag at all but never know if the brake lights are on or not?

From your location I would look for rust in the pivot point of the pedal or as said in previous post the spring that should pull it back up.

Parking brake is completely separate from the service brakes. It is likely the wires on the back of the parking brake switch were "disturbed" when the pedal under-dash work was done.

Why is it always after a repair something else shows up, especially when service is done in a shop that has closed door due to insurance requirements. Maybe it is just another Murphy's Law.
