Spare wheel carrier on front of RV?

HI - I'm new on this forum and want some advice.

I plan on taking lightweight motorbike (240 lbs) on the back of my excella 28, the issue is that i already have a spare wheel carrier fitted meaning that i'll have to fit an extended platform to get the bike on. The worry is that the weight of the bike when extended so far back will be too much, considering rear overhang etc. So - i then thought has anyone tried to fit a spare wheel carrier to the front of the RV? I know that there may be some issues with cooling the engine radiators and thought i'd ask the question has anyone tried this?

Well, I can't say how cool this guys engine runs but he certainly went to great efforts to block the front of the radiator.

All joking aside I'm not so sure I would want to block the front of the radiator like you're thinking about. I doubt the weight of the bike (assuming motorcycle) would be to much additional tongue weight. At a minimum the hitch should be rated for 2000 lbs with a tongue load of around 500 to a 1000 lbs.

If you have your owners manual see if it specifies trailer/tongue loads.

Sorry, I'm not much help.

Brad
