Silver Belle's new family...

Hi All,

We are absolute newbies, but we couldn't have gotten a better start than the one Dr Joe and Winn provided by entrusting us with the care of Silver Belle. Yes, her name lives on and we would have it no other way. From reading Dr Joe's posts, Belle has had some tragedy in her life but the good Doctor gave her much loving care and made her whole again. He has left some very large shoes for us to fill, we will do our best to make him proud. We are looking forward to this new life style for our family to enjoy, thanks to Dr. Joe for making it happen.

Happy trails!!!

Thank everyone for their welcome! Dr. Joe and Winn are fine as far as we know, just spoke to Dr. Joe today. The tragedy I was referring to was Dr. Joe's thread on "The Rape of the Silver Belle - Conclusion". To read Dr. Joe's history of Silver Belle from her maiden voyage to the agonizing break-in, his was a true labor of love in maintaining Belle in pristine condition. We are extremely fortunate to carry on Belle's legacy from Dr. Joe, he has essentially restored her from the ground up! We were so enamored of Belle that we bought her sight unseen, we haven't completed the tranaction yet, check is in the mail and all that. The Dr. has been great to work with and is a true gentleman, and we can't wait to get on the road!!!

Silver Belle's New Family

Dear Fred & Elaine:
I had no idea when I suggested that you get on line and associate with airstreamforms.com, that one result of your doing so would be the honorarium you have sent our way. I want to point out however, that my activities in restoring not one, but two Airstream Motorhomes, would not of been at all possible without the wonderful relationship with members of the forum in providing tremendous credible information and assistance in those operations. We found the forums to be our primary resource on all aspects of Airstreaming. Unfortunately, our sad abrupt departure from motorhoming because of health reasons leaves a deep void which we hope can be filled by the construction of our mountain lake retreat in the Smokies, but we still, out of habit, get on-line and read "the posts" regularly. You will come to learn in time, that every time you do this, you will discover jewels of wisdom and knowledge in the "posts". We are gratified that the Davis' have chosen to maintain the name and legacy of Silver Belle, just as the owners of Big Girl, (our other Aiirstream) have done. We consider this a singular honor.Take care and God Bless - Happy Airstreaming!

Fred and Lainey,

Welcome! I've seen your new coach and it's a beauty. In fact I have seen both of Doc Joe's coaches. Both very nice and well kept units.

This forum is a great place! I have learned a ton and it has saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars in repairs which I ended up doing myself and doing a better job then 90% of the shops.

I also kept a previous owners nickname of "Jellybean III" although I don't know the story behind it. I saw the letters painted over on the spare tire cover. Maybe one day I'll meet up with the previous owners and find out more of the coaches history.
