Saved by GPS

Hi all,

A few days ago I was saved from a deluge of grief and financial
pain by my trusty GPS with the LowClearances.com database
installed.

Travelling at night north on Old Eagle School Road near
Philadelphia, I was actually on a different route from the one I’d
planned due to another low clearance (which is kind of ironic).

Anyway because of the distractions and the sign being partially
covered by a bush, I think there’s a pretty good chance I’d have
hit the 10-6 railroad bridge. However the alert sounded, I was
able to take avoiding action, and disaster was averted.

This software has really saved my bacon so I just want to share
by experience and recommend to everyone that they give it a try.

Safe driving.

10'6 sounds pretty low. What is the average height of an Airstream anyway? How about my 71 Tradewind with a Dometic Penguin up top?

Trooper-D has been busily promoting his POI on several web sites.

I'm too lazy to search his prior posts, but on the other site, why, he'd had a similar close call last August!

It seems he had a close call in mid December of last year, as well.
In fact, I just looked up all Trooper-D's posts on this forum. He has 6 on this forum. Guess how many were about this low clearance program?

ALL 6 of them.

I also went to the trouble of looking up his posts on other forums. He is on many forums, also with 6 total posts on each forum. Guess how many were promoting this GPS program?

ALL 6 of them, copies on each forum, no other posts about anything else, all pretty much cut-and-pastes of what you see on this forum.

I'll play the devil's advocate here, while acknowledging that, yeah, advertising here is something you really ought to pay for, and say that before I stumbled upon this post I had no idea "low clearance databases" even existed....

I'll race you to the app store... here, let's set the Timers on our iphones... ;-)

Most Airstream trailers should be able to clear a 10' overhead...my personal rule is 11' with the AS in tow. I want to be very sure it clears.

Lightbulb Stealth viral marketing?

On the cheap too. Nice detective work guys. Oh well... I just received my free Low Clearances update and 10' 6" would've required an unplanned AC upgrade to the Excella Motorhome.

The specs for my Classic 31 say "height with A/C 9' 7 1/2 "

Question Huh?

It doesn't give me a lot of confidence in the database, if the guy who writes it keeps having close calls.

Regards,
Ken
