Question roadmaster "even brake"

Anyone have the Roadmaster "even brake." I'm about to head cross country and picked one up on ebay for $600. Seemed like a good deal --now I have to install it. Anyone have reviews for this product? Also advice on the programming would be greatly appreciated. This is supposed to be a 'proportional braking system.' Not sure if that means it will brake every time I brake the MH or only when I really slam the pedal?

thanks much,
