I need some information, please. When we got our MH we were given a Schlage key that fit the lock but discovered (too late) it wouldn't turn the tumbler. The former owner didn't have any recollection of having any other Schlage key. We asked a locksmith to re-key and he said he couldn't remove the ring cylinder without tearing out the interior wall to gain access... I called Schlage and they said they couldn't imagine anyone burying a ring cylinder that deep, given the fact that sooner or later a lot of locks need to be replaced or re-keyed. After seeing digital pix they thought by removing the ALU fob/handle on the interior side I would have access to both the solenoid actuator (from dash switch) and ring cylinder by simply removing the screws on the fob and then the mounting plate. Is that a legit assumption? I don't want to tear into it if its futile... and I'm not in the least bit interested in butchering the inside wall (any wall) of my MH. But, as it is, our only security is the door handle latch. Please, advise: HOW DO I RE-KEY THE LOCK? Instructions, pix, etc. Thank you in advance.
