RDM update from Myrtle Beach

Well we made it to South Carolina this evening.
I would like to thank Peter and Oscar for their late night advice on Friday. we changed the battery down to a 850 cca from the 1000 cca that was in the 325 ( apparently above 850 cca the plates are to close and short out I have had 2 1000 cca batteries fail prior this).
Every thing worked great on the way down 1100 miles left saturday at 2 pm arrived today at 6 pm.
Opening the heat riser really allowed the temp to settle down and let the flowmaster system do its thing. cleaning and rebuilding the carburator resulted in mileage of 8.9 mpg (us gal) for the entire trip ( cruising 3000 rpm at 65 mph )
