Get at least 20' of standard sewer hose, with good connectors. I carry a 20' piece plus an additional 10' for those times when the sewer connector is far away (like camping in my kids' driveway). Also, get an elbow that will screw into the sewer receptacle at a campsite. That will get you going, and you can make the decision as to better hose or a sewer solution when you decide what fits your situation.
While we're talking about sewer hose, also get some disposable gloves and a cake of soap in a suitable container. After you dump, you'll be really motivated to wash your hands.
Plan your first trip to a facility near your home. If you've forgotten anything essential, it's a short trip back to get it. Remember Walmart stocks a fair supply of RV hoses and supplies, so getting what you need on the road is pretty easy.
Take a good note pad along, and jot down the needs (and surplus items) you discover as you camp. Next time will be better organized.
Average first freeze in North Texas is Nov. 22nd, which is almost upon us. Learn how to winterize your trailer and pick up a few gallons of pink RV antifreeze (if you choose to use it) to have on hand. Walmart sells it at a reasonable price. Texas weather changes quickly, but you should have a day or so advance notice if you keep an eye on the forecast.
Learning to do this yourself has great advantages. You can winterize on the road if you have to. You can un- and re-winterize as needed for your camping schedule. You are not dependent on the dealer's shop schedule.
Above all, welcome to the Airstream bunch. Get out there and camp and have fun.
