Low Coolant warning light

Streamers,
I think I have found an answer to our goofy 'Low Coolant", and "Low Washer Fluid" lights. This weekend we will be taking the 345 out for one of our final short trips of the year, and will test the systems. I will be posting the details of our change after that.
So far both lights work the way they were designed.
Rob

My light works, but at times regesters low when not. I think the connection might be loose or the terminals need to be cleaned with a file. Mine work 98% of the time, so haven't fooled with them yet.

My "Low Coolant" light flashes from time to time. I suspect it is the ground. Keep me advised please.

low coolant light

This is just a stab in the dark based on my experience with the durmax engine. But if there is air in the system you will occasionally get the low coolant light. This usually happens when you flush the system and refill. There is actually a screw on the thermostat housing to bleed the air out. I know a lot of people say the system will burp and clear the air in a couple of hours after a drain or flush but others say they can not get the engine to burp and must bleed the air out. Just another possibility??

The probes are located in the overflow bottle. I think the circuit is just so sensitive, any resistance in the ground will throw it off.

I just bought mine in Indiana and driving back to Athens GA it came on while climbing the mountains in TN. I was only going 45 mph pulling my 08 wrangler up hill. Haha. I did add coolant to the full line. I got back no problems. I flushed the radiator all seems good. The rear differential was sludge, changed that too.

I finally unplugged mine, AS is as infamous for grounding problems as Lucas in England was. I'd be interested in a fix, too, unless it means getting into the "rat's nest" of wires under the dash!

I hope to get back to work on this project this weekend or next week.
This week I have to take advantage of the great weather to finish a project for my dad & step mom.
Stay tuned!

OK guys,
I have now officially given up on this project. The units I have installed just do not work. Like many other owners, I am just going to pull the bulbs out.

Whoa!
Good effort Rob, but take a breather, open a cold beverage of your choice, and collect your thoughts, and post what you tried to do.
I have no clue how a pair of connections on the tanks becomes a lit bulb on the dash.. and I have several... with black electrical tape over them.

I did however read a long post in the trailer repair section about the tank level units that Zepplinium built, and whilst 95% of it went over my head, there may be clues there!
