Leaks, Leaks, Leaks
Thank you all for letting me know you have the same (well, basicaly) LY that I have. I'm dealing with leaks around the roof vents and some sagging ceiling on the interior. The bathroom leak presented itself through the ceiling light fixture. I found where water is probably getting in around the sky light and the small fan over the toilet. I guess the water ran to one spot. Anyway, the ceiling is dropping as a result. The trim piece that joins the seams and runs into both closets has dropped from its track.
Question...is the beam that the trim fits into metal? It feels like it. Any suggestions on a temporary fix?
The other leak occured after I stepped on a soft spot on the roof next the the skylight between the dinette and stove.
The caulking on the roof is horrible. Just squeezed on, not even smoothed out. My plan is to remove caulking around all the vents, skylights, etc. and redo it. But I have to wait for cooler weather. I live in the coastal GA area and it's just a bit hot right now.
I have put a tarp over the top and the stuff above the interior ceiling liner is dry. But I need to tack up the ceiling before it drops anymore. Not sure what I up there that I can screw into to hold any type of trim. I don't want to risk puncturing the roof.
These are the biggest issues I have now.
Have any of you had your engine AC converted? What should I expect to pay? I have several mechanics I can get estimates from. Do I need to seek out an RV mechanic or can I just go to a reputable car/AC mechanic?
Can't wait to hear from you guys.
