Key for water door

I need an extra key or two for the lock that covers the water supply
door. It's a small key and rather odd looking. I have tried to get some
made at key shops they all said no.

Your suggestions or help would be appreciated, thanks.

What about replacing the lock? Most cylinder/tab style locks come with two keys and are fairly inexpensive.

On the 5th wheel that I'm using during my restoration, my son accidentally threw out the master keys for the deadbolt and access hatches. When I went to the RV repair shop that services the unit for me, the guy said that there were only 5-6 different keys for the camper locks. Sure enough, he broke out with a master key ring and found it on the 3rd try. Good Luck!

there is only one key for the water door on older airstream units. don't know about the new ones probably not one. if you have a key take it to a lock shop and they will probably have a key on one of the pegs.

When I aquired my 1984 Excella, I got two complete sets of extra keys made at a bonded locksmith shop. The water door keys were $1.20 each as I recall. The entire two sets was $12.00
Good luck...

I think that you will find that all water doors use the same key. I have a 2002 safari. I was getting ready to fill my water tank at a state park. A friend of mine with a box trailer was helping me. Before I could get out of the tow vehicle with the key, he was already filling my water. His key worked, and hey said that one key fits all. You might check your local RV store for a key.

When I had a Coleman trailer, I found that one key fits all Coleman pop-ups, and they were inexpensive at a Coleman dealer and very expensive at a Locksmith.

The key comments are somewhat amusing! When I was working as a construction superintendent there were only about three keys that you had to have to open virtually any Master Padlock on anyone's construction site. I still remember that one of them was a 0474, one was a 1352, and the third was a 17??! Those numbers even worked to gain access down the power company's rights-of-ways. I've been told that the situation isn't that much different with many popular automobiles. In truth, the only thief we're stopping is the honest one!

Driftwood:

No thanks! The keys I mentioned are the only ones I know what to do with out of my entire collection of "extra" keys. Is there any law that says we can't just throw old keys away??? I'll bet we're not the only ones with a stash of unknown keys.
