Water door keys

We ordered two keys from the Airstream dealer in Smyrna, Delaware for about four bucks. Seems, as others have said, there isn't much variation in the keys. In fact, ours could be opened with a screwdriver. So much for feeling secure about the water supply, but then if we become that paranoid we won't be out on the road at all.

Well, I think the paranoia is not about what comes out of the filler, but rather what might go in.

Right, hence the paranoia.

I drilled mine out, and use a screwdriver. Very hard to open, might be more secure than with a key!

Bingo!!!!!!

Bingo- Oasis RV in Tucson sent me the right key for my '72 water-fill door, which is made by Thetford- This is after MANY other key attempts suggested by folks here and at a Denver RV dealer. Point being, I'm not so sure there are only 1 or 2 keys for all the water fill doors out there. The key that finally worked is an Illinois G248. Ricky at Oasis knows his stuff! -tim
