How many motorhomes have this fitting installed?

While removing the electrical and water reels from the 345 this morning I noticed this female hose fitting attached to the side wall of the compartment. Tracing the hose I found that it is attached to about a 2" round flange on the deep end side of the black water tank.

My only guess is that it is a flush line of some sort. I'm also guessing that the round flange on the side of the black water tank is actually some sort of check valve or at least I hope that's what it is, otherwise you'd have a nice flow of something back into the compartment

So the question is, is this an Airstream installed product or is it an aftermarket item added by some previous owner?

Brad

I don't have that either. I do have two female connections on the side of the motorhome above the valve pulls for the black and grey tanks. I use them each time I dump tanks as they are connected to tank flush system. As a result we don't have the need to use any tank deoderant as they have never emitted any odor.

The "newer" trailers have this fitting. It could have been retrofitted to the motor home in the 1990's or so.

Sounds like a handy addition to have. I might have to remove it from the 345 black water tank and install it on either the Argosy or 310.

Thanks!

That is probably a hose connection for a "Tornado" black tank spray unit installed by a PO. We installed one in our '86 345, but I installed the hose connection in the support for the gray tank dump valve handle.
Works pretty good. The head in the black tank spins and sprays water all over in the tank.

Rob,

This must be what you're talking about. I'll have to look at the 345 black water tank to see if it looks the same.

Tornado Rotary Rinser

Price isn't bad and if it works as good as you claim it would be a nice addition to the system.

Thanks!
