How long are AS trailers

Hi All,

I am a new owner of a 2015 28' Serenity trailer. I will be picking it up next week. The specs say that the trailer is 27'11" long. My question is this the overall length including the A frame and hitch, or the length of the trailer not including the hitch mechanism?

Thanks.

Center of ball to rear of bumper. But the advertised length may be up to a foot off the actual length. My 20' for example is 20' 11" long. Really closer to a 21' I would say.

I'd suggest a long tape measure and someone to help. Our 22ft. Safari is more like 23 feet bumper to ball. More important, measure the length of the entire rig when hitched to your TV. Keep that number in mind or stick it to your dashboard. There are times when you need to know.

There's a railroad crossing near our home with a major highway intersection just on the other side. It has the usual wide white stripe painted on the pavement where traffic is supposed to stop for the light.

The sign reads, "43 feet from track to stop bar." Since our rig is exactly 43 feet long, I always stop before I cross the tracks.

My Safari 25 is supposed to be 25'11" long per the specs but is about 26'2".

If you measure it, put the tape measure on the ground and drop a string to it from the coupler and the bumper. If you stretch it from the coupler to the bumper it will be distorted by the axles and read about a foot longer.

The model numbers are sometimes to designate floor plan. For instance, the old 30 and 31 Classics were both 31' long. The different model number designations were for the floor plan. The 30 has a walk-through bath and the 31 has a side bath, but the trailers are the same length.
