Help or assistant guide

When I used to own my 74 VW, wehad a book that was a guide to getting help on the road. It listed VW owners, clubs and service friendly providers who worked with the old VW. If you broke down it was easy to find local help and fellowship. Is there something simular in the Airstream community? Sure would be handy for my drive home with the new money pit. 3000 miles alone. Not looking forward to it.

Join the Good Sam club and buy their roadside assistance insurance. They will know when to send a mobile mechanic and when to send a tow truck. Hopefully, you won't need either one.

volunteers

There was a list for that. Maybe one of the mods can look into it. We signed up and BLUE list was sent out to us via the net. It listed folks who were volunteering to help those on the road who needed assistance....and what resources were in our area too.

The book The Next Exit gives gas stations, dump stations, RV dealers, repair services, food, hospitals, rest areas, etc. for all interstates in the US. It comes out every year with updated material. I've used several years worth and they are pretty good.

They also publish a book with all Rest Areas and Welcome Centers in the U.S. It is useful also. You can order either book at www.RVbookstore.com
