ebay - Funeral Coach disguised!

There is currently a moho on ebay listed as a 1982 30 "V-classic" (whatever that is). It was originally a funeral coach. Look at the big square door on the curb-side rear. Now you'll know about those "things that go bump in the night!" Go ahead and call Scooby and Shaggy now. I guess you could always call Ghostbusters!

I'll bet you could just sleep forever in that queen sized bed.

Saw that on there, was not too keen on the lower color combo...

FYI- The owner is a forums member.
This is a nice coach for someone, and the extra door could you give you a sideline business.

There are several folks on the Forum who own the funeral coaches, and seem to have been able to adapt them very well to other uses. I know one who uses his as a sales vehicle for golfing equipment. Might be worth a look for someone looking for that length.

That door could come in handy... He who ate the baked beans for supper sleeps on the curb side

I wouldn't pass it up just because it once had - ahem 'other' uses, but I would wonder about the craftsmanship that went into turning it back into an RV. As funeral coaches did they have bathrooms, kitchens, things like that? Or was it just full of seats like a bus (that's what I'd assume)?

The funeral coaches usually had a kitchen (sometimes a limted kitchen) and toilet but no shower.

I have pictures of several units on my unique units page.

I don't think that is a funeral coach...only one door, but maybe the other one has been skinned over? I have seen a couple of the funeral coaches in person and the doors are on both sides. Also I have never seen one with a full kitchen.

In the Airstream book, Wanderlust: Airstream at 75, there is a picture of a funeral coach in use with a coffin sticking out of the door and the back opened up displaying flowers on tiered shelves. It is actually very cool looking. It would be a great send-off for the hard-core Airstreamer...sort of gives a new meaning to "full timer".

Look carefully at the photos. I think it does have doors on both sides. the doors also match up exactly with the other funeral coaches on my site. I agree with you on the kitchen. It is larger than other funeral coaches. The interior seating is also very different.

Okay...maybe it was a one door funeral coach
he has addtional pictures on his website and from the interior pictures I can see the back door. I still don't see a left side coffin door, so maybe it never had one. I would assume these things were custom built so you could order them however you wanted.
