BMW R1200 GS on the back?

Will the frame of an airstream say a 27-28 footer take the weight of a MC on the back bumper? Thanks

so u wanna hang a 500LB bike on the back?

sure the frame will take that weight...

add 2 or 3 bikes, no problem.

just make sure the trailer frame is laying on the ground.

IF the stream is already built, take the tires off so it's planted...
________

r u serious?

________

and the H2 will be OVER the payload/towing capacity with a new 27 ftr AND the motobike...

cheers

ok we've had our fun at your expense...

u might want one of these...

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f503...ler-37974.html

but the h2 is not enough mule for that...

350 dually...

bike IN truck or bike IN pan-am...

both work.

more on the topic...

(don't be confused, the pic with a VESPA on back is a MOHO, not a traylet'...

You guys are too funny: But you told me what I needed to know. THanks alot it will keep me going.

I bought a coleman E2 tent trailer which has worked great the 5 times I used it but it is such a pain in the butt to load, unload and just stop and make a cup. So I want a trailer now- and the airstream is the top of the line but I want to take my GS with me.

I carry my R1200GS in the bed of the truck while towing the Airstream. The tail gate has to stay home because it won't shut when a bike is in the bed, and it will hit the trailer in turns if it's down. Good luck.

lp=100 lbs

bmw=500lbs

still a really bad idea.

even IF the A frame was reinforced for the load,

the tongue is now gonna be OVER 1200 lb, over 1400 lbs and probably more.

which means a big ass receiver.

and it's STILL TOOOO much for an H2

(there will be NO payload left for a driver)

the ONLY place to carry that load is INSIDE the stream,

or in the hummer.

just throw 'big momma' from the train first.

cheers

Well, that'll make for a lot of tongue weight and a lot of torsional load on the trailer frame in turns, and would carry a lot of weight higher than is desirable. Also, the trailer frame really isn't designed for such point loads. I'd focus on getting it into the rear of the truck. If your truck is heavy enough (350 or better), see if you can use a front mount receiver.

Want to make a great commercial for AS? Just hook the GS up to a dolly system and make it the tow vehicle.
