Ah, youth! I wish I had had an Airstream when I was 20-something!

I was......
I was 28 when I bought a 1985 34' Limited trailer... I recall the first rally I pulled into - and the looks on people's faces. Wow - that was 10 years ago already. A motorhome - cool! Are you living in it? I full timed in the trailer for about 3 years. I've since owned 14 more and currently have 3. You have no idea what you've started yet.
Have fun!

Like others, i am slightly older but very immature....for my age.
I know of many 22 year olds that are still acting like teenagers and still living with their parents as late leaving nesters.
Now if you are one of those "kids" that still have the gas charge card being taken care of by mom and dad, you're all set!

Well, thanks a bunch. Now I almost feel too old to go to work. I think I remember being 20, but I know I sure wasn't thinking about buying an Airstream then. Well, that's another topic we probably can't discuss here. Having an Airstream, or two, is fun at any age. I know I love mine and I am not 29.

Always young, never too old . . .
Don't worry Swinginping, your friends are just jealous.
I would've had my first Airstream at the age of 6 if I could've twisted my Daddy's arm a little harder.

We went to our first rally when I was 27 and Ben was 31. The next youngest people there were...my parents (who went in their Argosy)!!!!
Now that we're in our mid- and upper-thirties, we're still among the younger ones but happily (not for us, for the WBCCI) not always the youngest.
Good for you getting started young - that just means you'll have more time to enjoy Airstreaming.

I married into the wife's family at 22 but finally got permission to buy the dormant Airstream at 24 and use it at 28 last summer...does that count?

Wow... when I was 22 I couldn't afford a backpacking tent! I bought my first Airstream in 1987 as a 32 year old and paid a whopping $2k for a '70 Safari Special 23'.
A 345 at 22? I'm impressed!
'Course once I hit fifty, I'm counting each birthday down now, so I'm only 47 again... eventually I hope to be back down to 22..

You are a man ahead of your time... I think it is great! When I was 22 I was riding the high seas in Uncle Sam's Canoe Club fighting the Cold War and keeping Kadafi in check.

At 22 I was tent camping, and would have loved to have had an Airstream. I did buy the first Airstream when I was still in my 20s, though (nobody needs to know how long ago that was).

Haha, well nice to see the thread got a good response from everyone, i bought my first travel trailer when i was 19, a 1996 26' wilderness which i kept until last november.. which i still kinda miss being my first camper. Wasnt a thing wrong with it, and never had to fix anything. Then bought a 27' 5th wheel which was nice but didnt give me the same feeling as my wilderness, never even camped in it since it was during the winter and only had it 2 months, so i made the leap for the airstream....found it on ebay, and had never seen an airstream rv that i could remember, which unlike my wilderness seems like it may be a little more needy . But its something different which i like, and even though i may complain at some points, i really enjoy learning new techniques and working on about anything, and yeah i think my friends are just a little jealous....

Rock on, Ping.
I was really torn between an Argosy moho & the classic AS TTs. Ended up settling on the latter which I bought on my 24th b-day last June.
I had no idea how many people our-agish were active on this forum.

I may not be your age but I got my first Airstream when I was 16.
My brother and I bought our neighbor's 1963 Bambi. It was a wreck. We restored it using money from our part-time jobs.
That was back when it wasn't cool to restore Airstreams.
